Ripley made it safely to her new home in Maine last weekend, and with that, we announce it’s a wrap for Pibble Ranch! ♥️

It has been an amazing 2.5 years of rescuing dogs in need here in Polk County. We have been so blessed to have incredible adopters and supporters on this journey! Our dogs are living great lives in their adoptive homes, and not once were we ever short on medical bills, supplies or love from our tribe, and some of those medical bills were over $10k at times. 😅
YOU made this dream a reality, and we can’t thank you enough!
Some of you may be wondering why we have chosen to close our doors, and simply said, it’s just time. Life has a way of having chapters, and this has been an awesome one!

Please continue supporting your local rescues - rescue is all consuming, exhausting and constant - those of you who choose to support those of us doing this work truly have no idea how powerful your impact is!

For those of you wondering how Ace is doing, he couldn’t be better! He now sports the name Jake and his mom recently sent us this update:
“Jake comes more and more out of his shell everyday and is literally the best dog ever. He and Eva went to boarding this weekend while I was at a bachelorette party and everyone at the facility said he’s their favorite dog and asked if they can have him 😂 even my neighbors are like “if you ever need to rehome him, please give him to me”. Unlucky for them, he’s mine but he is such a success story and I’m soooo grateful to have him 🥰”

We couldn’t be happier for this sweet, gentle giant! From dumped in an orange grove unwanted to now a favorite wherever he goes - the best kind of rescue story. ♥️🐾

Next month will mark one whole year of Ripley being in rescue. 🥹 That is such a long time for a dog to wait for a home…
Ripley came to us when her owner decided to no longer care for her. She had just given birth to yet another litter of puppies (that all passed away at birth) and was very depressed. She has come such a long way since coming to us - she has filled out and is the happiest girl around! She absolutely loves to chase lizards, enjoy the sunshine and go for walks. She is fully vetted and housebroken and does well on a leash! She would prefer to be the only pet, but had done well with smaller, calmer dogs with proper intros.
We are really hoping Ripley does not have to reach that 1 year anniversary in rescue…. Please help us find her a home! 🏠🐾

5mo old Dingo has been working with a certified canine behaviorist and is ready for a home of his own! If local, we will pay for his adopter to continue sessions through the transition period. He is a super fun pup who has been mastering basic obedience and manners, is housebroken and crate trained and rides amazingly well in the car. We want to see him in a home of his own asap as all puppies deserve those puppy memories with a family of their own. ♥️

Dingo will be working on basic obedience and his leash manners with the awesome behaviorist Marco at Orchid Springs over the next few weeks. He’s extremely smart and food motivated, and we can’t wait to see all he learns with Marco’s guidance.

Tex NEEDS a home! 🏡🥹

This sweet senior boy has been waiting for months now. Although a senior, he’s got many years ahead of him. Senior just means an amazing new companion who sleeps through the night, doesn’t p*e in the house or chew your things up!
He’s incredibly sweet, low key, housebroken and his adoption fee has been sponsored!
He has done well with other dogs that are mild mannered with proper intros. Cats are a no. He’s truly just looking for a couch to nap on, a backyard to sun himself and a human of his own to adore. 🥹

Extremely adorable Dingo is back on the market! His current home is not going to be the match we were hoping for moving forward.
As stated in previous posts, he does need an experienced home that can provide him boundaries and training. He’s already started training with his current family, so has a foundation for you to continue building on!

It is with very sad hearts we share the passing of Marshmallow.
Marsha had complications with anesthesia during her procedure today and did not respond to life-saving attempts.
As cruel as it feels to have made it so far through her journey, we know we did everything we could for her and gave her every opportunity possible. She was absolutely thriving and loving life this past week and was experiencing life as a “normal” lab puppy (well, as normal as Marsha could experience), which brings us some comfort knowing she did defy so many odds over the course of her short life.
You all have been so invested in her journey and made something that seemed impossible a reality for her. She went from a very sick, abandoned puppy in the woods to having a massive support team who has showered her with love, prayers and donations for weeks now.
We truly cannot thank you all enough for your love and support. We also want to thank her veterinary teams, Orchid Springs Animal Hospital and VSC of Sarasota for loving her as we did.
The team at VSC Sarasota committed to giving her a chance when many others declined. Their team is a blessing to the veterinary community, and we ask that you lift them in prayer for peace as they have spent weeks now caring for her 24/7.

I do believe Marsha had a purpose here on earth, even tho her time was short. She brought so many people together, and we hope she will continue inspiring others to give it all you’ve got, even when the odds are stacked against you. 🖤

Marsha is feeling sassy! She’s gaining weight, eating well, no longer is regurgitating and has solid poops! Unfortunately, her incision is still reluctant to heal fully, so she will have another sedated procedure today to hopefully get us one step closer to being healed! 🥰🐾

Marsha is curled up on the couch watching some tv this evening - look at how much she’s filling out! 🥰
We have had another setback with her incision, so she needs lots of prayers that it will continue healing and not become infected.
At this time, she’s eating well and playful, so we’re thankful for the positives and taking it one day at a time. ♥️

Made a trip to visit little Marsha and take the amazing team some much deserved snacks ♥️

Marsha is in great spirits, playing and eating well. She did have to be sedated today to have the edges of her incision freshened and sutured to help the area heal properly. Overall, she’s on the right track and each day things are improving! 💗

Marsha was sedated today to have her incision area cleaned up a bit - thankfully there has been enough granulation tissue form to help draw the area together again. Pray that these sutures hold, the skin will continue healing and that she can start gaining weight. Not out of the woods, but things look a little better each day. Slowly but surely! 💗

Still having a little bit of regurg, but much improved, and has some more granulation tissue forming. Baby steps, but in the right direction! Keep those prayers coming! 💗🐾

Marsha had more small improvements today! She has more granulation tissue forming, she ate really well, has put on a little bit of weight and had minimal regurgitation. Lindsay (who has volunteered so much of her time off to care for Marsha) got her a Valentine’s collar that she looks so cute in. 😍
Keep praying for continued healing, (especially for granulation tissue to form around her re**al incision), no more regurgitation, weight gain and no infection.
(She looks sleepy here, but her meds will have that affect to help her remain calm while her incision works on healing). 🥰

ADOPTED 🥳 How, you might ask, is little Pugsley still waiting on a home? We have no idea! He’s pretty much perfection at 3 months old. He’s crate trained, sleeps through the night, loves other dogs, cats and children, rides wonderfully in the car and has the sweetest personality! He’s ready to start making memories with a family of his very own! ♥️🐾

Adoptable Ace has made huge strides in his confidence levels since coming to us. He walks really well on a leash, as you can see here. 🥰 If you’re someone who enjoys calm energy, routine and commitment, Ace is the dog for you! He is extremely loyal and bonds fiercely when he knows he’s safe. It makes so much sense now as to why he waited in that orange grove for so long - he was truly committed to waiting for his person to come back for him. 🥺 Ace is a gentle giant. Although he is unsure of himself in new places, he has never once acted out. He has always been pleasant for his veterinary visits, training and handling. Ace has been with us for several months, and we feel that the next best thing for him is to continue his journey of learning he can trust again in a home of his very own.
