⚠️WARNING - GRAPHIC IMAGES ATTACHED⚠️

This sweet cat, that we lovingly named Poppet, was found severely injured outside. She had clearly been injured for a long time and was semi healed with her bone exposed. Poppet is currently under medical supervision, and needs to be stabilized before she is able to have surgery for her leg.

We will update as she improves. Please wish Poppet healthy healing and positive energy!

Good news and bad news update on our newest little baby! Sadly the wounds were much deeper and more painful than we could have ever imagined! But the good news? Her bloodwork was actually amazing and she was the sweetest soul during her exam! Despite the incredible amount of pain she’s in she didn’t even have to be sedated to clean her body. She just gently accepted treats the entire time from all of the great vet staff. She’s currently on the way to her foster home where she will be showered with love, given a great name to start her new life, and prep for her extensive heartworm treatment that will follow in a few weeks. If you would like to donate towards her medical bills we are expecting her total intake and rehab bill to cost upwards of $6,000-$7,000. Thank you in advance and we can’t wait to share her progress along the way!

A freedom ride that will pull at your heartstrings! This sweet girl was at Lancaster County Animal Shelter SC with a due date that was quickly approaching due to her medical status as well as the overcrowding pandemic that is affecting all of the surrounding county shelters. This girl was used as a bait dog and has severe abrasions all over her body causing her to be in pain. On top of that she is also high heartworm positive. She is currently with our buds at Ebenezer Animal Hospital for a full work up so we can see what we can do to help her feel better! After that she will be in a wonderful foster home to heal and regain that confidence she lost many years ago after being abused daily. Stay tuned for her new name as well as a link to help us cover her upcoming medical bills. We are saddened by her current condition but we will focus on the good things to come for her!

Corey decorated his kennel in the middle of the night so everyone visiting PAWSibilities - The Humane Society of York County's "Second Chance" Shop would see that he is the pet of the week!!

Ok. Ok. One of the amazing volunteers did it... but it looks fantastic! Corey is 7 years old and just a chill guy. Pop on by the store to visit Corey and look around for new treasures. He'll be at the front door waiting on you!!

Adopting a senior dog just means that they have more experience in the art of friendship and love!

The uncomfortable truth is that some people are worried about adopting a senior dog. Losing an animal is tough, but giving an animal the best last years of their life makes it so worthwhile.

Graham would like to be the senior dog ambassador this week! This 11 year old man is the sweetest pup and a fantastic leash walker. He wants to go on his short walk and then plop down on the couch with you. He loves a car ride and enjoys a good treat afterward. If Graham sounds like he'll fit in with your lifestyle, give us a call!

Whoops! Yesterday, we posted about Peacock and HER little lion costume but incorrectly stated she was male.

The reason we bring this up is because only 20% of orange cats are female!! And while we love all of our amazing kitties, we feel like it's just one of the reasons why little Miss Peacock is special. Give us a call to meet this petite lady! 803-802-0902

Graham isn't the only dog with a birthday this week. Turns out Whoopie Pie and Gander have the same birthday - today!

Whoopie Pie is turning 3 years old and is just as sweet as her name implies! She's not a huge fan of other dogs but has done amazing work in her training classes. Whoopie is a fantastic snuggler and a volunteer favorite.

Gander is 4 years old today, and it is hard not to rave about how amazing this boy is. He has been with us for almost three years too long. He's dog friendly, people friendly, and all around just a very good boy.

Give us a call if you have any additional questions about either of these wonderful pups, and don't worry, they will get birthday treats as well!

Today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day! So naturally, Frito was the first to volunteer because he loves a good outfit.

He decided to dress up as his favorite toy! Frito is almost 3 years old and would make a fantastic companion pet. He has that small dog attitude so meeting him more than once may be ideal so that he can get used to you! Call us to meet our wonderful little Frito-bandito. 803-802-0902

We asked Penelope for a picture, and she gave us all of the angles!

This supermodel of a cat is 5.5 years old and loves to lounge around. Penelope is definitely a larger cat but will attempt to fit herself in your lap regardless. She follows the age old cat adage of "if I fits, I sits". Give us a call to meet Penelope and her feline friends!
