Humane Society of York County Humane Society of York County is a no-kill 501(c)(3) rescue in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Our Mission:
To find loving fur-ever homes for dogs and cats.

The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) is an independent local non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We are a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and serve the greater Charlotte region including York, Lancaster and Mecklenburg counties. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law, and 100% of your donati

on remains with the HSYC to benefit the pets in our care. To ensure cats and dogs are treated in a humane manner, are rescued, and are placed in loving and forever homes by:
- Increasing dog and cat rescues and adoptions
- Empowering the environment so pet owners are responsible and accountable for their actions
- Supporting spay and neuter programs for community dogs and cats
- Providing a Helping Hands Program to assist with critical treatment for dogs and cats in need

When you first walk in to our cat room you'll likely see this hunk. Smooth - the big orange goofball with a personality as bold as his looks! At 3 years old, he’s silly, sweet, and knows exactly what he wants… a family all to himself. 🧡

He is a charmer who’s ready to be the king of his castle (no other cats, please). But trust us, he’s more than enough love and laughter for one home. This sweet boy has been at the shelter for a year and a half with no real interest!! Which, to us, is bananas. Look how cute he is!
