Happy New Years everyone!
Most of you already know Garret and I will be expecting a baby come May 2022. I will begin stepping down from mobile and grooming at the shop location starting in February.
We have two wonderful experianced groomers who will be stepping in to continue mobile services while I am away.
I have personally vetted them and also checked references and fully trust they will provide excellent care for all my clients.

It's fall again!
Which means wildlife will begin building their winter nest and burrows. If you have some wooded areas around your property please collect a bag of dog hair from us to spread around. The animals will collect it and use it to insulate their homes.
Dog hair can also be used in your gardens to keep deer and other rascals away.

We use IGroom products which is safe for the environment and wildlife!

Alex is the best wrecking ball of a dog to groom 🤣 he definitely doesn't understand his size but he is the biggest sweet heart and always keeps us laughing during his groom whether it be because his tail wagged and knocked something down or he shakes and we end up with drool every where 😅
We love this big lap dog!

Zucc the problem solver (shiloh shepard)
* Shepards are extremely intelligent problem solvers but require alot of training and stern owners. Please discuss with a trainer prior if you are interested in adding a Shepard breed to your family. It is also very important to find a breeder who will allow you to meet the parents. Some Shepards can be big sweet hearts but some can be more protective, depending on how their blood line was bred.

I will be proceeding with becoming a Nationally Recognized Master Groomer with NDGAA.
I am seeking dogs to test with, dogs must be well behaved, in full coat, and breed standard clip. Closest test site is in Tennessee so I will need to either transport the pet or you can meet me at the test site if you prefer.
This certification would be spread throughout the year and into 2022 but I would like to establish my testing pets and begin prepping their coats.
Anyone willing to allow me to use their pets will received discounted grooms but will require a more frequent schedule to ensure the coat stays in good condition. Below is listed the breeds I need and what I'll be testing on. Thank you everyone!

NON-SPORTING
Bichon Frise will be allotted 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Poodle times vary by size:

11” and under: 1 hour and 30 minutes
11”-17”: 1 hour and 45 minutes
17”-23”: 2 hours
Over 23”: 2 hours and 15 minutes

For the practical skills exam of the Non-Sporting breed, applicants are required to bring their own Poodle or Bichon Frise with at least 8 weeks growth of hair or enough coat to do proper sc******ng and/or pattern work. The dog should be bathed, fluff dried and completely dematted. No crate drying please! Ears should be cleaned and toenails should be trimmed to a proper length prior to testing.

SPORTING
The sporting breeds will be allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes

For the practical skills exam of the Sporting breed, applicants are required to bring their own American or English Cocker Spaniel or Springer Spaniel with at least 8 weeks coat growth. The dog should be bathed, fluff dried, have ears cleaned and toenails trimmed prior to testing. All clipper and scissor work must be done as part of the testing procedure.

LONG-LEGGED TERRIERS
Miniature Schnauzer and Wire Fox Terrier will be allotted 1 hours and 30 minutes.
Bedlington Terrier, Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier & Kerry Blue Terrier will be allotted 2 hours.
Optional: Add 30 minutes if hand-stripping

For the practical skills exam of the Long-Legged Terriers, applicants are required to bring their own Miniature Schnauzer, Wire Fox Terrier, Bedlington Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier or Kerry Blue Terrier with at least 8 weeks coat growth. The dog should be bathed, fluff dried, have ears cleaned and toenails trimmed prior to testing. All clipper and scissor work must be done as part of the testing procedure.

SHORT-LEGGED TERRIERS
The hand-stripped Cairn Terrier will be allotted 2 hours.
All remaining short-legged terriers will be allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Optional: Add 30 minutes if hand-stripping - excluding the Cairn Terrier.

For the practical skills exam of the Short-Legged Terriers, applicants are required to bring their own Scottish Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Sealyham Terrier or Cairn Terrier (Cairn must be hand-stripped) with at least 8 weeks coat growth. The dog should be bathed, fluff dried, have ears cleaned and toenails trimmed prior to testing. All clipper and scissor work must be done as part of the testing procedure.

With spring around the corner and our unpredicting weather changes keep in mind dog fur is a great insulator for bird nest and other creatures nest.
I always have a bag or two to give away 😅 all my products are eco friendly and safe for the wildlife. If you would like some dog fur to spread around your yard for animals to collect please let me know!
Dirty dog fur is also a great deterrent to keep deer out of your garden :)
To keep a clean look fish net stockings can be filled and hung on trees to keep the fur in one place and allow birds to pluck from.
Monday or early morning appointments please send me a message in advance to ensure I save some fur for you.
