Today is , a reminder that knowing how to save a life—especially our furry friends—can make all the difference. While having to administer CPR to your pet can be terrifying, being prepared can help you act calmly and confidently in an emergency.

Stay Calm:
1️⃣ Breathe: Take a few deep breaths to steady yourself. Focus on the feeling of the air filling your lungs.
2️⃣ Delegate: If there are bystanders, assign them tasks like finding the nearest emergency vet.
3️⃣ Focus: Keep your mind clear. Concentrate on the steps ahead and stay in the moment.

When to Start CPR:
🐾 Your pet isn’t responding
🐾 Your pet isn’t breathing
🐾 You can’t feel a heartbeat or pulse

How to Perform CPR:
Compressions:
❤️ Position your pet on their side.
❤️ Deliver 120 compressions per minute (2 per second).
❤️ For every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths.

Breaths:
❤️ Close your pet’s mouth and seal it with your fingers.
❤️ Cover their nose with your mouth and give 2 breaths—enough to make their chest rise.
❤️ Check for a heartbeat after 2 minutes. If there’s no pulse, continue.

When to Stop CPR:
🐾 Your pet starts breathing and responding
🐾 You reach the vet clinic and they take over
🐾 You can’t continue physically
🐾 Your pet starts breathing but is still unconscious

Recovery Position:
Place your pet’s head to the side, slightly tilting down (unless there’s head trauma).

Compression Techniques:
🐶 Medium to Large Dogs: Compress one third of the chest depth.
🐱 Small Dogs/Cats: Use your thumb and fingers for compression, or compress directly over the heart.

Stay prepared and know that you can make a difference in your pet's life! ❤️

Hi TLC family! We have had a successful donation run! I'm adding an additional drop for Hot Springs as soon as I can. They are desperate as they can only be reached by ATV, drones and pack mules. They need whole meals in a can, water,wipes,1st aid, candles and matches, diapers and flash lights. I know this is extra, but if anyone has any of these things I'll coordinate pick up or drop off. I'm also buying a couple chain saws and oil for generators and hopefully ⛽️! It's been 7 days with little to no help in this area. Please reach out if you would like to help. I'm also coordinating November and December drops and a Christmas toy drive.

Hey Everyone
We're playing twice this weekend and we're going to have a trailer at both locations to accept donations that will be driven up to the Watauga and Avery Co drop-off points on Monday morning. (See below for a specific list of items)

‼️ Also, we want to announce that the Saturday show at Incendiary Brewing Company will now feature Jonathan Calhoun, the lead singer of Ashes & Arrows. ‼️
He'll play solo from 3 - 3:30 and we're hoping to have him join BDL for a couple of songs.

The Sat event is from 2 - 7 pm
Sunday, we'll be at The Brewer's Kettle Kernersville along with The Deluge Music, Hunter McBride Music, and Drew Foust & The Wheelhouse. This event is from 2 - 9 pm.

We've been talking with people running the relief efforts up in the mountains, and what they need most at this moment isn't as much food, but hardware, tools, power sources, and communication devices.
If you look through your house, garage, and basement, you can probably find so many of these things in storage!

Here's a list of needs.
▪️Cleaning supplies
▪️Hand sanitizer
▪️Basic first aid supplies
▪️External charging batteries
▪️Solar chargers for cellphones
▪️30W oil for generators
▪️Bar & chain oil for chainsaws
▪️Bug spray
▪️Baby food
▪️Socks
▪️Coloring books (for the kids used to being on phones all day)
▪️Crayons & notepads
▪️Baby formula
▪️Diapers
▪️Regular-size propane tanks
▪️Walkie-Talkies (to help direct traffic on one lane roads)
▪️Small, camp-type, 1-pound propane tanks (overlooked and useful)
▪️Chainsaws
▪️ Shovels, hard rakes, hand tools
▪️Sawzalls

Good morning! We hope everyone made it thru the hurricane safely! Thank you to everyone out there working hard to restore power and water in the worst affected areas. If you can please donate to the relief efforts. The NC mountain towns are going to need all the help they can get, now and in the future.

I am making a donation from TLC! I will be collecting pet supplies and supplies for a nursing home of 500 disabled residents and driving them to a friend to be distributed by Love Asheville. You can find them on Facebook. The nursing home is in desperate need of bedding, batterie, water and anything else we have available. Please contact me Dawn Harris via text at 980-219-1810 and I will come to you for any pick ups. I'm not sure which day I will be traveling yet, but it will be as soon as my SUV is full and I can set up drop off. Please help us help others 🙏 💗🐶😺👩‍🦯🧑‍🦼👨‍🦽

It’s never easy when one of our favorite clients crosses the 🌈 bridge. Today we’re remembering this sweet little blind girl, the sassiest beagle ever Miss Brinkley. She gave her mom 16 years of sass and joy. We will miss her terribly. She was always happy to pose for some fun Snapchat filter pics. And always quick to howl for her dinner! Rest in peace Miss B
