🐾 Protect Your Pets in Sub-Freezing Temperatures! ❄️

As the temperatures drop below freezing, it’s vital to keep your furry friends safe and warm. Here are some essential tips to help:

1️⃣ Bring Pets Indoors: If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them! Cats and dogs are vulnerable to frostbite and hypothermia.
2️⃣ Limit Outdoor Time: When outside, ensure pets are supervised and kept out only for bathroom breaks or short walks.
3️⃣ Check for Frostbite: Paws, ears, and tails are especially vulnerable. Wipe down paws after walks to remove ice and salt.
4️⃣ Provide Warm Shelter: If pets must stay outside, ensure they have a dry, insulated shelter with bedding to keep them warm.
5️⃣ Avoid Antifreeze: This chemical can be deadly to animals. Clean up spills immediately and store it out of reach.

Feral cats are the rebels without a cause, the lone wolves of the cat kingdom.

On the other hand, we have domesticated cats. 2024 Recap: Fort Morgan Humane Society

What an incredible year it has been! We are filled with gratitude as we look back on the accomplishments of 2024, made possible by the support of our amazing community.

Adoptions: We found loving homes for countless cats and dogs, ensuring they start new chapters filled with care and companionship. Every adoption means a brighter future for an animal in need!

Fundraiser Events: This year, our community came together in fantastic ways during our fundraising events. From the Spaygetti & No Balls dinner, Hot Dog Stand at events, Santa Paws, Barktober and the Lock in, your participation helped us raise crucial funds for food, medical care, shelter improvements, and more.

Books Read to Pets: We loved seeing kids and adults alike take part in reading to our furry residents! This unique program brought comfort to our animals and enriched the lives of readers.

Spay and Neuter Initiatives: A big focus this year was helping control the pet population in our community through affordable spay and neuter programs. These efforts not only reduce homelessness but also ensure healthier lives for pets.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making 2024 a year to remember. Here’s to continuing the mission in 2025 and beyond!
