Roseanna has been without a home for 3 months! She’s been checked out as a Weekend Warrior several times and both times she got a positive report card; she even did well with the resident cats 😳.

As you can see she loves human attention and will fall asleep while being gently caressed.

As we say for all dogs, if you’re considering adopting Roseanna and have another dog, please bring them for a meet and greet.

She’s available for adoption at

James arrived at LCDAS back in April and lingered on the adoption floor for almost 4 months until RAIN took him into their rescue in August.

He was heartworm positive but has completed his treatment and will hopefully soon test negative. He’s about 4 years old, 50lbs, house trained, crate trained and good with other dogs, children and most cats.

As volunteers at LCDAS he left a huge impression on all of us with his happy-go-lucky goofy demeanor.
We will never forget him and our deepest wish is that he finds a great home!

He’s available for adoption at rescueanimalsinneed.org.
Please contact them for more information on our dear buddy James 💙.

Kiki has been at LCDAS since 7/2/25 😔 but being the longest stay cat here at the shelter she does have some benefits. She has her own private room, numerous places to lounge and stretch out and she is front and center for all of us to see which means she’s always on our minds.

She’s a little over a year old, will happily sit on your lap, and has never met a chin scratch she didn’t like.

She has darker eyes which are hard to photograph and even though her coat is a beautiful gray it sometimes photographs as a shade of mauve.

Please consider giving this gentle, petite girl a forever home.

Bubbles and her buddy Pebbles arrived at LCDAS back in October and were an instant hit not only because of their adorable look but because of their gentle sweet personalities. Both were adopted and we just got an update from Bubble’s new family:

“She has been such an amazing dog and we have been bulking her up back to healthy weight so she’s not so skinny.

We kept her name and she has been doing really good with my 3 year old niece and I couldn’t be any happier to have her as our fur baby.”

If Pebbles’s family sees this please post some photos of her in comments!

A huge Thank You to their adopters!

UPDATE: Adopted

Sage is a roly-poly whirlwind of fun and a bundle of pure love and perpetual motion. She’s everything you’d expect from a 34lb 1 year old cattle dog. Those of you out there with Heeler experience will understand.

When we reach down to pet little Sage, she curls up into a ball with a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes but don’t fooled by that moment of calm because she’s a spark plug in a fur coat!
She’s dog friendly and we’d love to see her in a home with another cattle dog!

UPDATE: Adopted!

Rocco arrived at LCDAS as an owner surrender. He’s about a year old and the absolute bestest boy!

As you enter the adoption floor he’ll probably be the first face you see, quietly and patiently peering out his kennel.
Hard as we try, we can’t think of anything negative about him. We haven’t heard him bark. He’s totally non-reactive with other dogs and we’re going out on a limb by saying this but he might even do well with cats.

Rocco is a FOREVER DOG!
