Big Roseanna has spotted a squirrel on the fence and is quietly and stealthy moving in 😂. She’s back from yet one more stint as a Weekend Warrior. We’re told she did well in a home setting but was a bit more energetic than they had anticipated. Our big girl needs a home! Please come visit her at

Meet Phantom-
the ultimate underdog.

He has a cosmetic difference that makes for a one of a kind look. He carries his little “deformity” like a badge of honor proving that character beats conformity every time. He’s a reminder that sometimes the things that make you different are the things that make you extraordinary.

He’s playful, loves other dogs and is ready to disappear from the adoption floor and onto your couch!

He’s available for adoption at

Porkchop arrived at LCDAS unaltered, unchipped, heartworm positive with a heart murmur and in need of a dental. The cards were stacked against him 😞.

But he made a huge impression on those of us who knew him and we all fell head over heels in love with this gentle guy 💕.

Porkchop snuggled his way into the heart of one of our volunteers who fostered him after his surgery and dental.
We’re so very happy to announce that Paula adopted him today!

We know he’s going to have the best life and after this post his fan base will be even bigger!

The majority of the dogs that enter LCDAS arrive with no collar, no tag, no history. Dixie is an exception because we know that she was found abandoned in a home with another female dog and that dog’s 7 puppies. Mom and pups were thankfully taken by The Humane Society of Naples.

We LOVE 💕🥰 this orange dog and on a scale of 1-10, she’s an 11!

Please come meet her at

Lemon Drop was owner surrendered with Ho**ch and Angel(both adopted) and Brownie who is also on the adoption floor.

Lemon was initially a bit withdrawn, meek and shy but we see him gradually becoming more playful and happy. He’s a good boy who we think will be a good fit for most any home(we don’t know if he’s cat friendly).

Pumpkin Spice and her newborn puppies arrived at LCDAS in September. We’re very grateful to Team Moose Rescue for taking this adorable family into their rescue and finding homes for the puppies. Now Mama dog needs a home and we’re counting on our Friends fans to spread the word and get this sweet pup in a home for the holidays!

Spice is about 2 years old, 15lbs, loves to go for long walks and is very sociable and loving. She’s been in a foster home with other dogs including a very large mastiff as you can see in these photos and has fit right in. She’s also been agreeable with the resident cat. She’s been confident, accommodating, adaptable and grateful in her foster homes.

Spice needs a foster-to-adopt or better yet an adopter. Contact www.teammooserescue.org for any questions and an adoption application.

When you get to be a certain age, you develop a comfortable routine and that’s just what 12 year old Reo has done after finding himself in the County animal shelter.

When we arrive he barks to let us know he has to go out. As he exits his kennel he always stops to greet his across the aisle neighbor, an attractive young female named Sasha. They touch noses and he then trots down the row toward the exit door.

He’s a confident older gentleman with years of experience and coping skills that are coming in handy in his current situation. As all older folks know there’s nothing better than a short afternoon nap and it’s especially peaceful for Reo since he’s a little hard of hearing.

He was found in ZIP Code 33908 and we just can’t believe that his owner is unaware that he is at LCDAS. If they are aware and didn’t claim him then shame on them.

Reo needs a home and a fresh new start. Please consider adopting Reo!
