A few of our Atlanta VCA Animal Hospitals are offering a safe and caring home to pets evacuating from Hurricane Milton's path. Please see below for the list of hospitals:

We are offering up to 7 nights of free boarding for pets of evacuees, so pets get the loving care and shelter they need.

We will verify evacuation zone residency upon your arrival (driver's license, etc.). If residency cannot be verified, we can still offer boarding at our regular rates as long as we have availability. We urge anyone who is evacuating to go ahead and get copies of your pets' medical records and vaccine history, as we have to adhere to our boarding vaccination requirements.

Heatstroke season is upon us! ☀
Remember to provide plenty of clean fresh water at all times, have a well ventilated space for your pet indoors and access to shade outdoors. NEVER leave a pet tied up or unattended in the heat. Dogs that are at higher risk of heat stroke include brachycephalic (smooshy face breeds such as pugs, frenchies, bullies etc), overweight pets, elderly pets and those with underlying health issues. That being said, ANY pet can experience heatstroke. If you think your pet may be exhibiting symptoms of heatstroke we recommend you contact us immediately (239)936-0177. If this occurs outside of our regular business hours seek out your local animal emergency room.
