Service dogs can help veterans in many ways, including with physical disabilities and mental health. Here are some statistics about how service dogs help veterans:

PTSD
According to a study, veterans with PTSD who had a service dog showed fewer PTSD symptoms, better sleep, and a better overall experience than those with a companion dog or no service dog. In another study, 100% of participants said their service dog helped them feel calm in public, and 93% said it helped them feel more secure at home alone.

Service dogs can also help veterans with PTSD by interrupting panic attacks, waking them up from nightmares, and alerting them when someone approaches from behind.
