We took advantage of the snow days this week! ❄️ While everywhere closed down and families got together to build snowmen and igloos, we got our dogs out for some much needed outdoor time!
We think they had a blast 🥹😂

❄️ Cold Weather Pet Safety Tips ❄️
As temperatures drop, it's important to keep our furry friends safe and cozy!
Here are some cold weather safety tips to ensure your pets stay warm and healthy all season long:
🥶 Limit Outdoor Time
Cold weather can be hard on pets, especially those with short coats or smaller body sizes. Limit outdoor walks to shorter periods and always monitor your pet for signs of discomfort, like shivering or whining.
🧥Dress Them Up
Small, short-haired, or older pets can benefit from a warm pet sweater or jacket. Make sure it fits snugly but isn’t too tight.
🐾Paw Protection
Protect those feet! When pets go outside, they pick up snow and ice melts/salts on their feet. Certain salts and de-icers are toxic if ingested.
Watch for Toxic Items
☠️ Antifreeze is poisonous to dogs if ingested. If you think your puppy has licked, or come into contact with any antifreeze, contact your vet immediately.
🏠Shelter & Warmth
If your pet spends time outside, ensure they have access to a sheltered, insulated space. Backyard dogs and porch kitties especially need a warm, dry place to escape the cold.
🚗 Check Your Car
Before starting your car, tap the hood to make sure no furry friends have snuck under for warmth. This is especially important for outdoor cats who might seek shelter near warm engines.
💦Fresh Water
Make sure your pet has access to fresh, unfrozen water at all times. Dehydration can still happen in the winter months!

Happy New Year!! 🎉✨

We cannot thank you enough for making 2024 the year that it was! Without our volunteers, adopters, fosters and transport partners we wouldn’t have been able to save the lives we did.
So many amazing adoptions, reunions and rescues that filled the year with joy and reward.
Despite the hardships and heartbreaking cases, we finished the year with more good than anything.
From rescuing mamas and babies off the streets, strays that have been roaming for months on end, long termers finally finding their homes to all of the animals that made the big treck up north, you all made it possible for those sweet souls. ❤️
We cannot wait to see what 2025 brings!
Here’s to rescuing more animals in need and continuing to grow this family! 🥰

Mr. Bo Dodger; the dog that has spent the last year roaming around Central Mall has finally been saved from a life on the streets!

He was first posted back in November 2023 with his female friend, she was quickly captured but he remained. We would say he has been alone but that’s not true. He formed a major fan base and has built up a family of people that have made sure he was fed and loved, even if it was from afar.
No matter how much he was taken care of, life on the streets is no life for a dog, especially one that clearly has had a home before all of this.

Mr. Bo Dodger is the most gentle, docile and loving boy! He is shy but it is clear that behind those eyes is a fun, goofy and affectionate dog waiting to come out. We fully believe that he will become the most outgoing boy over the next few weeks!

Thank you to everyone that has kept him as safe as possible over the last year. We know it hasn’t been easy seeing him roam for so long and we know it’s not going to be easy seeing him leave the neighborhood he has stayed in, but we promise he is moving on to bigger and better things!

Happy New Year sweet boy, 2025 is going to be your best year yet ✨🥰

We are still looking for forever or foster homes for our shelter dogs for the Holidays!! 🎅When Santa was here this past Saturday, he received a lot of Santa Paw letters from our shelter babies asking for a home for the holidays. If you can’t adopt consider fostering one of our dogs!!

Fostering a dog for the holidays can be a wonderful way to make a difference in an animal's life while offering you the joy of having a furry companion during the season. 🥹

We are looking for foster homes, especially for dogs who have spent their last Christmas in the shelter in 2023. It's a rewarding experience that provides a safe, loving space for a dog in need and can be a great way to spread some holiday cheer. 🎄🐾

🏠 Home for the Holidays: Meet Fred 🎄

Fred still hasn’t received 1 application, yes you heard that right…not ONE APPLICATION! We can’t not believe it either, this boy is fantastic! 🥹❤️

For over 671 days, Fred has been waiting. Waiting for someone to see him, to choose him, to love him. This sweet, loyal boy has spent last Christmas in a kennel, watching as other dogs found their forever homes. Fred is 4-5 years old, with a heart as big as his smile. He loves long walks, cozy naps, and belly rubs that make his tail wag uncontrollably. He’s goofy, gentle, full of love and adores kids—but his greatest wish this holiday season is to share it with a family of his own. 🙏

This Christmas, we’re hoping for a miracle: a home for Fred. If you are undecided and not sure if you want to commit to adopting just yet and would like a trial run— consider fostering him for Christmas. 🎅🎄

We would absolutely LOVE for Fred to find his forever home 🏡 but in the very least, we want him to be in a home for Christmas this year even if it’s just temporary in a foster home. No dog deserves to spend Christmas in the shelter let alone a SECOND Christmas. 🥺

We are at it again with another shelter baby on their ✨Jolly Doggie Day Out!🎄🤗

Meet Cassandra! She is our 6th LONGEST term dog. Cassandra was brought in last December on the 6th by animal control for roaming the streets of Fort Smith. The animal control officer that brought her in stated “she is really really sweet!” 🥹

Cassandra is a 4-year-old sweetheart with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This lovable girl is searching for a forever family where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.

💛 Cuddle Queen Alert: Cassandra is a champion couch companion. If you’re settling in for a movie or some downtime, she’ll plop right next to you, ready to relax and snuggle.

🎾 Fetch Fanatic: Got a tennis ball? Cassandra is all in! She loves a good game of fetch and will happily chase down those throws.

🏠 House trained and already knows how to 'sit'—this smart girl is treat-motivated, making her a joy to train and bond with.

🚶‍♀️ Adventure Buddy: Cassandra adores long walks and will gladly join you for a stroll around the neighborhood or a hike on the trail.

🩸Blood Donor: Did you know, Cassandra is one of our top blood donors?! She helps other dogs in our shelter and also dogs that come into the emergency center that might need blood transfusions.

While Cassandra absolutely loves people—the more, the merrier—she’s not a fan of sharing the spotlight with other pets. She’d prefer to be your one and only, soaking up every ounce of affection and giving plenty in return.
