I’m so proud of this lil horse. She tries so hard. She is not for a beginner, she needs someone with confidence to finish her up but she gets better and better despite us only being able to ride her once or twice a week.

Listen to your horse!
When a horse is being difficult you need to first look at 2 reasons. It can usually be traced back to poor training or there is an underlying medical issue. Meet Izzy, our little 4 year old. She was born here and has had a great start in her training but yet she continues to take 1 inch forward and 20 steps back. She’s the sweetest horse on the ground but the minute you get on her back, she’s a ball of nerves ready to explode. Sure you can chalk it up to her being 4 and needing more desensitizing but her outbursts are not based on that. They are completly random. It just doesn’t make any sense. She’s been examined by numerous vets, been treated for lots of different things. Still very slow progress. Yesterday on a whim I decided to take pictures of her eyes. Like why not. As soon as I saw the pics I instantly understood. My sweet girl can’t see very well especially in the daylight. This horse has corpora nigra cysts in both eyes. Like what are the odds… she’s 4! It now makes sense why she’s struggling so much. She will be going to Auburn next week to hopefully get some help.

We’ve been waiting to share this news with you. Our next introduction to Cowboy Mounted Shooting will be in Lyons, GA September 20! This is an exciting venue because the Southern Legends Mounted Shooting Club’s home venue is Statesboro. So come 2026, mounted shooting competitions will be happening in the area. Let us help you get your horses and you started! All equipment will be provided, you just need to bring your horse. If you need overnight accommodations, please let us know.
