We are doing a fundraiser for Hailey and Trevor Harris to help them raise some funds for their 2025 competition season. If you know my kids, you know they work their butts off in order to help pay their way. So not only is this some of the best popcorn I’ve ever eaten the kids get 50% of what you spend. If interested in supporting follow the link below. Ps, I recommend the white cheddar and fruity popcorn.

Our group is having a fundraiser and you can help!

I want to say how very proud I am of Charlie Mae and Maggie. They both stayed very composed despite their obvious nerves. She was dressed, warmed-up, and ready for every stage, 8 in total over 2 days. The shows are exhausting but the memories are priceless. She completed every single stage at the speed I requested and showed complete control. Every single time these two enter the pen we are working on confidence. Once that has been gained, watch out. Maggie and Charlie seem to really enjoy the freedom from the judged show events. I personally do too. 😉 it’s too subjective for me.

This past weekend was Charlie Mae’s first mounted shooting competition. At practice they were both performing beautifully so it was time. I told her and her family to have 0 expectations. She would fail at first. Some may think this is negative or discouraging but it is not. Mounted Shooting is hard. There is so much going on for both horse and rider. Setting the expectation is crucial for future success. There would be stages she would not complete, there would possibly be tears but this weekend was all about building the foundation. You can practice until you are blue in the face but nothing can prepare you or the horse for the nerves of actually competing. Charlie was a nervous wreck on day 1. I was ready for it. Tried to coach and encourage her through it. Despite it all it honestly was a good first showing. Both horse and rider gave their best despite being super nervous. Day 2 Charlie was more relaxed therefore Maggie was too. Charlie went in and completed all 3 stages and even picked up the speed on the run down. I even had to tell Charlie a tad slower please. 🤣 I’m so proud of them. This team is going to be fun to watch grow! I told her to get comfortable being uncomfortable because that’s where the growth happens!! Great job cowgirl!

So I just need to brag on this young lady tonight. She came to me because she wants to try mounted shooting. We've has a few lessons together getting her and the horse more resp0nsive to one another. and 2 shooting.pattern practices. At the shooting practices, she struggled to multitask the many facets of what mounted shooting entails. We sent her home with a set of holsters and cap guns to practice so she could make it more muscle memory. In less than two weeks she has made a 100% improvement. I knew she was practicing but I was totally blown away by how well she did tonight. I am so proud of her determination.
