Hey everyone! I have decided to go back to teaching and I recently was offered a job as a 4th grade teacher in Warren Township!
I am still planning to groom in the evenings/weekends.

I have gotten a LOT of doodles at my business who come in with tons of matting, sores and excessive skin allergies due to having too much fur. A lot of the time, I have to shave them, which owners are not huge fans of, or the owner will tell me that the coats aren’t matted. What they fail to realize is that though they might brush them here and there or their top coat isn’t matted, their bottom coat can knot so badly that it gets stuck to their skin. This can be super painful and cause wounds too. I wouldn’t be a worthy groomer if I didnt shave a dog that had fur that matted, or if I failed to tell you about the condition of your dogs fur/skin in order to help you improve it for the future. If you have a doodle, or a dog with naturally curly hair, PLEASE brush them. If you can’t find a brush that goes through to the bottom coat, let me know and I can recommend one!
Here is a before and after of little Miss Bonnie, the mini Bernedoodle! She had a beautiful, soft, well taken care of coat. Bonnie was very nervous when she got here, but eventually warmed up and became super cuddly and playful. She even showed me her zoomies. Bonnie got an all over haircut, leaving her ears, top of her head, and her tail longer at her moms request. I think she looks adorable! ♥️
This is exactly why I don’t groom cats 😂 this is my cat, Layla. She is part Persian and she is 10 years old. Due to her age, she has a harder time grooming herself. Once a year, I cut her hair, and this year I am about 2 months behind. She’s super cute when she’s done but she was PI**ED 😂
This is Harley, one of my regulars. Harley is a puppy and feels like we weighs about 3 pounds. I usually don’t let my dogs mingle with clients but Harley LOVES my pups, especially the girls. I shaped him up, trimmed about an inch off, and did all of the other routine stuff. He is a sassy little thing and I couldn’t love him more! ♥️
These sweet little mutts are Ginger and Dozer! Ginger is definitely alpha while her little brother follows her around and wants to copy everything she does. He thinks she is so cool. Ginger has the softest ears in America and dozer has the sweetest, kindest eyes. They both were super well behaved. The only struggle was Dozer in the bathtub where he attempted to climb out and did about 17 somersaults. I have been cleaning my bathroom for an hour. 😂 I used sensitive skin shampoo on these two babies, brushed TONS of fur out of them and let them air dry because they are scared of the dryer. These two babies are the sweetest things!
Can you all please look at this ham and a half? This is Pete, and he is a lab. He’s actually an angel, but, you know. 😂 Pete was the biggest baby I’ve ever met. He wanted all the snuggles, pets and kisses. Pete came in with some serious shedding, as labs do, and we spent almost two hours brushing his coat out! It’s never ending! The last photo is of one of his legs after I got all of the loose fur out. As you can see, there are no ”lumps” or “knots.” It’s smooth, and sometimes when a dog is shedding their undercoat, it’ll look like they have hundreds of little knots or hairballs on their fur. We got probably a pound of fur off, and if you know dogs, you know this is a TON! Pete happily laid in the bathtub for his bath, and wagged his tail while I trimmed his nails. Pete was a family favorite and I cannot wait for him to come back. ♥️♥️

I had this little Bernedoodle puppy named Bruno! Bruno is so tiny and happy. He’s the squishiest, happiest, most wiggly baby and I loved him SO much! Bruno got a puppy cut which consisted of trimming his sanitary areas, around his eyes, and his paw pads. He got a bath and a blowout, while I held him, and he did an incredible job with the dryer for such a little baby. I hope to see Bruno back again!
These are some of my reoccurring clients, Bentley and Karly! They are both yorkies! Bentley does not hold still for pictures and he snorts like a little piglet when he gets excited. It is the cutest thing in the world. Karly is so laid back and snuggly. I love these babies and I look forward to having them back in a few weeks!
This is Indy, and she is a sweet little Aussiedoodle! This was my first time with her and she was a bit timid. We had to go short due to some matting she had, but we got her all cleaned up! Indy took about an hour to warm up to me, and after that, we were best friends. She followed me around everywhere and wouldn’t let me out of her sight. Isn’t that the best feeling? Knowing you are trustworthy enough that a dog who is timid warms up to you and loves on you. She is beautiful and I look forward to having her over again in the future. 😊♥️
My sweet sister, Lily, crossed the rainbow bridge. Lily was a granny who had developed quite a few health issues over the last couple of months. She was the most loyal, crotchety, squishiest baby and we will miss her forever. Til we meet again. ♥️
Hey everybody!
I have quite a few new followers on this page so I wanted to reintroduce myself. I am originally from Lafayette, where I grew up. I went to Ivy Tech and graduated, and then Purdue and onto IU where I graduated with my Bachelors in humanities and social sciences, or Sociology. For the last 10 years, I have groomed on the side for friends and family members. During Covid, I decided to make grooming my full time job for the foreseeable future. I am a teacher, but I also absolutely love to groom. About 3 years ago, I fell down a few steps and smacked my spine. Since then, my spine has started to deteriorate and it causes me to have to use a wheelchair part of the time. Due to this, teaching can be tough, but I have stuff set up at my home so that I fully am able to groom while using my wheelchair when needed. My wife and I have been together 4 years and just recently celebrated 1 year married! She is currently doing her PhD internship in counseling psychology. She sometimes helps me groom if she’s home or has the time. We both absolutely love animals and we have 4 dogs of our own. During my grooms, I don’t crate dogs, I don’t take more than one dog at a time unless they have a sibling, I don’t let my dogs interact with clients, and I only use natural and organic products. The safety, happiness, and health of animals is incredibly important to me, and I love my clients just like I love my own babies.
I now live in Greenfield while my wife is doing her internship, and am taking clients full time here. Sometimes, when I come home to Lafayette to visit, I will take clients there, which I will post on here.

It always breaks my heart to learn that one of my clients has passed away. Maisy was 18 and a half years old and recently passed. She was always the sweetest, most gentle little Granny. I feel grateful to have been able to groom her and watch her while her Mama’s went on trips! Rest peacefully, Maisy. ♥️

This is my sister, Macee the Goldendoodle! Macee comes to me every 8 weeks for her typical groom! We leave about .5” of hair on her and she’s happy as can be! She’s a big, loving, sweet girl!
These sweet babies are Chewy and Indy! They’re doodle mixes! If you didn’t know already, doodles mat easily, due to their double coats and curly fur. Even something as simple as rain or a puddle can mat their fur! These boys spent the whole day with me as we did bits at a time. Getting a full groom when your hair is long can be exhausting. But they handled it like champs! They are all shaved and ready for summer! Sweet boys ♥️♥️
This is Bear the Bernedoodle! Can you say CUTE!!! Bear came in for a full groom and got shaved for summer, but we left his tail long and fluffy for the ladies! Can’t wait to see you again baby Bear! ♥️♥️
This is Graceland, and he produced more hair than I’ve ever seen on a chi-weenie! Graceland was such a sweet and easy going baby! His groom was quick and simple, and I loved every minute of it!
This is Karly and Bentley, the yorkies! They both got full grooms, along with haircuts! They were so sweet, tiny and well mannered. Bentley even managed to sneak in a few snorts and had me cracking up! 🐽 ♥️♥️♥️
This sweet little guy is Butch! Or Butcherson, Butch Cassidy and Butchy bean, as we call him in our house! Butch came to me shedding like crazy! We were able to get the shedding under control, as well as cleaning out his ears, eyes, paw pads and nails! He is the sweetest boy ever and he was an angel! ♥️

This is Pumpkin the poodle! He was the sweetest, most compliant boy! His mom wanted a standard poodle cut so we did just that! He didn’t give me grief in the bath, blowout, haircut or nails! I sincerely enjoyed working with this little ray of sunshine today! doesn’t he look adorable? 😍

Tomorrow, I go in for multiple scans to check for a brain aneurysm. If you know me, you know I get blinding migraines, sometimes everyday for months in a row. My entire head throbs, I lose my vision and am disoriented for several days. My doctor saw something fishy on my CT scan of my head about a month ago, so I am going in tomorrow to get it checked out in further detail. If you could keep me in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean the world. I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous before. Thank you! ♥️
This big sweet baby is Otis. Otis is one of the sweetest babies I have ever met! Today, I had Otis in for a groom.
I am using Otis as a positive example of what I do when I have a dog that is incredibly anxious at their first appointment.  today was his first appointment with me and he was very anxious because he had never met me before. He ran around outback for about 20 minutes and had runny diarrhea the whole time. He then came inside and threw up quite a bit and him doing this shows me that he is in distress and the last thing I wanna do is make him feel worse. I called his mom and had her come get him and we agreed to try an anti-anxiety medication for the next time he comes just to make him more comfortable. 
In this situation, the last thing a groomer should do is get mad or upset. We are here for the dogs and need to make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible. Since he spent about an hour with me today, next time, he should feel more comfortable including having the anxiety medication to bring him down a little bit. I love this sweet boy and I cannot wait to see him again!
Sometimes I have to cancel grooms during the session if the dog is showing signs of distress because I don’t wanna make them feel worse than what they do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this and Otis’s mom was more than happy to come get him and try again, and I always appreciate clients like that. ♥️
Hey all.
For future reference, If I ask you to be here to pick up your dog by a certain time, please do your best to be here. I time my clients out in a way that allows me to do thinks in between grooms like use the bathroom and let my own dogs out. If you don’t show up by the time I’ve asked you to, this delays or sometimes postpones other clients altogether, and then I make accommodations to their services because I am running behind. I am going to start taking payments before the groom also, so that when you do show up to get your dog, that part is out of the way.
