Happy New Year from Harvest Wind Miniature American Shepherds!! We have gotten into a groove here with our agility training and have had so much fun trialing this year at Adventuretails. We had our first litter in 3 years. Mama Colors did an amazing job with her 6 puppies. For a first time Mama she produced such nice puppies! I love all the families that chose our dogs, old and new, to add to their families. So proud of all of our puppy family’s and their accomplishments. I want to highlight two of them in this post. Becky Jacobi and LE went to Fastcat Invitationals. They placed 3rd in the intermediate div, behind two border/whippets. They were first in our breed. Congratulations!! Jen Klang and Bam went to the very first RACH invitational, they did really well, Made it into the top 25!! Really proud of our littermate puppies making it to Invitationals in the same year. Jen and Bam also qualified for Nationals in agility, for her Novice A dog, they are killing it! Looking forward to our road trip of Jen, Becky and me going to NAC this year! We have some exciting plans for puppies and maybe an extra little something for 2025! Stayed tuned! 🐾❤️❤️🐾

In order for our dogs to get it right, we need to allow them to be confident enough to try, offer and progress. This all comes more naturally when we allow them to confidently make mistakes.

The same goes for us. You wouldn’t be able to look back and say ‘I wish I’d done it differently’, if you hadn’t made those mistakes in the first place. Mistakes are what progresses us, keeps us unstuck and helps us grow. Mistakes are never really mistakes at all.

It’s been a while but I have one more Harvest Wind puppy Spotlight to talk about. Harvest Wind Wigglebutt How Sweet It Is MXP, MJP, MXF,MFP. Caboodle is from Han/Delta. He was our very first MAS litter, we had a lot of deposits on this litter but just two puppies. I couldn’t give him up, he was all fire from the second he was born. He is my heart and soul. I can’t thank Wigglebutt MAS and Angela Ogle enough for allowing us to use Han for Delta. These last 8 years have been a whirlwind of learning how to run a fast dog and he has taught me everything! Without him I wouldn’t have gone to so many seminars, classes and different trainers (thank you to all of you) and had to really deep dive into agility training. We are still growing and learning together. I wouldn’t change a thing about him, except maybe his current coat situation! Shaggy beast. Through his one and only litter of 9 puppies so many friends have dogs that have accomplished many things and are continuing his legacy. For that I am proud and grateful!

Jade, new name is Kinder, is at her new home!! She will be a great companion for a large extended family.
