MISSING PUPPY‼️

A 10-month-old West Highland White Terrier has been separated from its owners over the past couple of days, roughly two miles away from our facility, close to Flaugh Road. We kindly request that you keep watch for this puppy in the designated location. Should you have any information, please do not hesitate to contact us at 260-432-1542. We appreciate your assistance!

With Independence Day being just next week, we wanted to send out a friendly reminder of our holiday hours! We will be closed both Friday, July 4th & Saturday, July 5th. We will be back open during regular hours on Monday, July 7th.

🚨 **Important Notice for Pet Owners: Save this Life Microchip Registration Issue** 🚨

As many of you may have heard, there’s been news surrounding the Save this Life microchip registration service.

Westside DID use this product between March and September of 2016.

If your pet was microchipped here between March and September of 2016, please take immediate action to ensure your pet's microchip information is up-to-date!

Unfortunately, Save this Life has experienced an issue that could affect the registration status of pets microchipped during that time. This means that, in the event your pet is lost, their microchip may not be properly registered or accessible to shelters and veterinary clinics.

**What You Need to Do:**

1. **Check Your Pet's Registration**: If your pet was microchipped with Save this Life during that time period, contact them directly to verify your pet’s registration status.

2. **Update Your Information**: If you need to update your contact details or your pet’s registration, make sure you do so ASAP to ensure your pet’s microchip can be used to reunite you in case they ever go missing.

3. **Consider Re-registering**: If you are unable to verify your pet’s registration or if you’ve encountered any issues, you may want to consider re-registering your pet’s microchip with a new registry.

Keeping your pet’s information updated is crucial, so please don’t delay! Let’s keep our furry friends safe and ensure they can always make their way back home if they ever get lost. 🐾💕

Did you know that Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control is offering an exciting opportunity for our High School Kids?

We know it's short notice, but if you have a high-school aged child that is interested in becoming a veterinarian, RVT, or has interest in the animal field, check this out! 👀
Spots can fill up fast!

Do you know a high schooler who is interested in becoming a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician? We have a wonderful opportunity for them to earn experience in an animal shelter setting. We still have open spots for Monday, January 6!

Time: Either choose session 1: 8:30 - 10:30 am OR session 2: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Where: 3020 Hillegas Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46808

Who: People in grades 9-12

What: Participants will enjoy a snack, watch a spay/neuter surgery video first before viewing a real one, participate in a question/answer session, tour our shelter and end in our triage/OR area to meet our Veterinarian and Vet Techs. Participants can opt out of viewing the surgeries but are encouraged to learn about how the animals are prepped for surgery and ask any questions they may have about schooling, experience, etc.

Price: $40 donation to our Humane Education Dept.

Disclaimer: Students will be watching real surgeries on animals. This includes seeing blood, organs, and needles/sharp tools. If you know this makes them uneasy, please reconsider registering for this session.
