Tanya is our longest-serving employee, and her dedication to animal welfare is nothing short of inspiring! Tanya began her journey at the Allen County SPCA as a vet tech, then advanced to Team Captain, later became the clinic manager at HOPE, and now proudly serves as our Director of Operations at Humane Fort Wayne.

🐾 In partnership with Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, our Working Cats Program gives a second chance to outdoor cats and cats who would otherwise be deemed un-adoptable.

🐾 These independent felines thrive in barns, shops, warehouses, or other secure structures—while helping to naturally control rodent populations!

🐾 Interested? We strongly recommend adopting more than one working cat and they come with supplies, too! Working cats have a $15 adoption fee which helps to cover their spay/neuter surgery, microchip, and Rabies vaccination.

Come meet Domino today and let the love "fall" into place! 🐶🎲❤️

Looking for a pup who’s as charming as he is lovable? Domino, a 5-year-old Great Dane mix, is ready to find his forever home! He may not be as towering as a full-blooded Dane, but at 73 lbs, he’s got plenty of love to give!

Domino is dog-friendly, but we recommend a meet & greet with all dogs and kiddos in the home—just to make sure the pieces align. 🧩🐾 He’s playful, affectionate, and eager to please, always ready to bring joy wherever he goes! This fun-loving boy adores spending time outside and will happily zoom around the yard when he gets a burst of energy!

While he’s still learning his manners, he’s more than willing to stack up to the challenge. And you can’t miss his most adorable feature—his little nub tail, which wags nonstop whenever he’s excited (which is most of the time)!

Meet Keda! This 3.5-year-old sweetheart simply wants to be loved. After being used for breeding in the past, she’s now ready for a fresh start in a home where she can finally just be a dog. Her favorite things? Pets, treats, and leaning on her favorite humans. 🥰

A Few Things About Keda:
🐾 She can be a little cautious at first, but treats and praise win her over quickly!
🐾 She must meet all dogs in the home—she’s not a fan of female dogs.
🐾 Kids? She must meet them first and will need patience.

Meet Cooper – the senior dog with the heart of a puppy! 💚🐾

Our friends at Kristi’s Pet & Human Photography captured some incredible photos of Cooper and our other shelter residents, and wow—are they stunning! 📸✨

Cooper is a 12-year-old Maltese mix, but don’t let his age fool you—he’s got the energy and excitement of a pup half his age! Whether he’s zooming around the house, chasing his favorite toys, or flopping over for belly rubs, Cooper’s playful spirit shines through every moment. His bright eyes and wagging tail are proof that age is just a number when you have a heart as young as his! 😄

This little guy is always on the move, bringing laughter and joy to everyone around him. With his adorable antics and boundless curiosity, Cooper is sure to make every day a little brighter. 🐶☀️

Community Alert: Be Cautious! 🚨 Our Pet Food Pantry van was targeted by vandalism early Sunday morning while parked at our Hanna Street location. A suspect in a white cargo van siphoned gas and removed all of the Humane Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry decals from our van. Because we don't know what motivation there could be for taking those decals, we are urging everyone to be SAFE and CAREFUL! ‼️ We’ve reported this to the police, but we’re asking for your help: 🔍 If you have any info, please let us know. ⚠️ Be cautious—always check our official Pet Food Pantry schedule to ensure you're receiving food from us: humanefw.org/get-help/pet-food-pantry/ 🚫 Please do not give or recieve pet food from anyone driving a vehicle marked as Humane Fort Wayne's.
