Meet Axl! Axl came to us to get a custom brace after tearing his CCL. His brace provides stability to his leg so he can run and play again! He came in for an exam and Dr. Schiller made a fiberglass cast of his leg that was removed and sent to Orthopets. Orthopets took the videos, photos, and casting of Axl's leg and made a long-lasting custom brace to stabilize his knee and reduce his pain. He is doing well with it and is back to running and playing! The additional photos show the process of casting Axl's leg.
Meet Hans! Hans came to us after he had surgery to treat disc disease in his spine. He is starting to gain more function in his back legs and has a great attitude! He gets muscle stimulation to wake up the nerves in his back and both hind legs. Great Job Hans!
Meet Forrest! Forrest started coming to us after he had a hemilaminectomy to treat his intervertebral disc disease in his lumbar spine. He gets the full works when he comes to see us, and has been slowly gaining the ability to bear weight in his hind legs again! We have been doing an acupressure point on the end of his tail to help with his mobility when he is in the treadmill. Great Job Forrest!
Meet Louie! Louie is a very active boy who likes to participate in fast cat. He comes to us for strength and conditioning to be able to be the fastest boy in the midwest! He gets his own obstacle course set up and gets into our underwater treadmill. We can't wait to see him accomplish his goals!
Meet Abbie! Abbie is a young Basset Hound recovering from surgery to repair her broken pelvis. She started rehab to get some strength back in her hind legs. She is doing so well and has such a fun personality! Waiting for the treadmill water to drain is not her favorite and she gets a little sassy but turkey treats make it better. Way to go Abbie!
Annie is our newest graduate! She came to us after having TPLO surgery to repair a torn cruciate ligament in her knee. She has done amazing and we're so proud of her progress! Great job Annie!
This is Sam! He recently started with us to help improve his mobility. He is doing great so far and has the cutest squishy face!
Maverick began Rehab therapy to help recover from a TPLO surgery. He is such a fun boy! Maverick's goals are to regain and maintain muscle, control pain and work on becoming full weight bearing. He gets laser therapy, neuromuscular electric stimulation, and underwater treadmill. Is is required for patients to lay on our lap during therapy? No, but it makes us happy when do :)
This little guy, Zues, came to see us for rear limb lameness. His owners would like to see him be able to jump up onto furniture again. Zues receives laser therapy to his spine, underwater treadmill and acupuncture. Zues was so scared and anxious his first couple sessions but has decided we aren't too bad. That may have something to do with the turkey he gets for being such a good boy;)
This handsome husky is Hayden. Hayden came to us with a non surgical traumatic disc rupture that caused an acute episode of rear limb paralysis. He is working so hard to regain his mobility. He has already came so far! Hayden receives laser therapy, acupuncture and underwater treadmill. Hayden is wearing a walk a bout to assist his rear end while walking, in and out, of the treadmill.
Keep going, Hayden!
Raymond is an excited, happy and determined Frenchie! He had a sudden onset of rear limb paralysis in April. He comes once a week for underwater treadmill, laser therapy and acupuncture. Raymond is very food motivated so he gets a lick mat to keep his brain busy during therapy. Raymond is showing tons of improvement and we are so happy for him and his parents!
This little nugget is Lila. She is working extra hard to lose weight. She comes to rehab twice a week and walks in the underwater treadmill once in the morning and one in the afternoon each day that she is there. Walking in the high level water helps to support her weight allowing her to have a low impact yet effective therapy session. Lila is making progress and we are so proud of her!
