Meet Axl! Axl came to us to get a custom brace after tearing his CCL. His brace provides stability to his leg so he can run and play again! He came in for an exam and Dr. Schiller made a fiberglass cast of his leg that was removed and sent to Orthopets. Orthopets took the videos, photos, and casting of Axl's leg and made a long-lasting custom brace to stabilize his knee and reduce his pain. He is doing well with it and is back to running and playing! The additional photos show the process of casting Axl's leg.

Meet Forrest! Forrest started coming to us after he had a hemilaminectomy to treat his intervertebral disc disease in his lumbar spine. He gets the full works when he comes to see us, and has been slowly gaining the ability to bear weight in his hind legs again! We have been doing an acupressure point on the end of his tail to help with his mobility when he is in the treadmill. Great Job Forrest!

Meet Abbie! Abbie is a young Basset Hound recovering from surgery to repair her broken pelvis. She started rehab to get some strength back in her hind legs. She is doing so well and has such a fun personality! Waiting for the treadmill water to drain is not her favorite and she gets a little sassy but turkey treats make it better. Way to go Abbie!

I am certain if Cooper could roll his eyes he would. He is not new to the Rehab scene. This is his second round of several sessions following two surgeries for lateral patella luxation. He is working towards improving the stabilizer muscle strength in his rear limbs. Cooper has his own way of waiting for the water to fill up in the treadmill. He likes to lay down until the water is all the way under his chin. We love this silly boy!

Maverick began Rehab therapy to help recover from a TPLO surgery. He is such a fun boy! Maverick's goals are to regain and maintain muscle, control pain and work on becoming full weight bearing. He gets laser therapy, neuromuscular electric stimulation, and underwater treadmill. Is is required for patients to lay on our lap during therapy? No, but it makes us happy when do :)
