Maverick began Rehab therapy to help recover from a TPLO surgery. He is such a fun boy! Maverick's goals are to regain and maintain muscle, control pain and work on becoming full weight bearing. He gets laser therapy, neuromuscular electric stimulation, and underwater treadmill. Is is required for patients to lay on our lap during therapy? No, but it makes us happy when do :)
This little guy, Zues, came to see us for rear limb lameness. His owners would like to see him be able to jump up onto furniture again. Zues receives laser therapy to his spine, underwater treadmill and acupuncture. Zues was so scared and anxious his first couple sessions but has decided we aren't too bad. That may have something to do with the turkey he gets for being such a good boy;)
This handsome husky is Hayden. Hayden came to us with a non surgical traumatic disc rupture that caused an acute episode of rear limb paralysis. He is working so hard to regain his mobility. He has already came so far! Hayden receives laser therapy, acupuncture and underwater treadmill. Hayden is wearing a walk a bout to assist his rear end while walking, in and out, of the treadmill.
Keep going, Hayden!
Raymond is an excited, happy and determined Frenchie! He had a sudden onset of rear limb paralysis in April. He comes once a week for underwater treadmill, laser therapy and acupuncture. Raymond is very food motivated so he gets a lick mat to keep his brain busy during therapy. Raymond is showing tons of improvement and we are so happy for him and his parents!
This little nugget is Lila. She is working extra hard to lose weight. She comes to rehab twice a week and walks in the underwater treadmill once in the morning and one in the afternoon each day that she is there. Walking in the high level water helps to support her weight allowing her to have a low impact yet effective therapy session. Lila is making progress and we are so proud of her!
Adorable Mocha comes to therapy to build up the muscles in her rear limbs. She does several exercises but walking over these cavaletti poles is her favorite. She also walks in the underwater treadmill and has acupuncture with Dr. Jill Kitson. Mocha was a scared pup when she first started coming to Rehab but is coming out of her shell and loves all the treats and snuggles she gets while there.
Reagan, a spunky adorable 7month boxer baby comes to rehab every week for underwater treadmill therapy. She began therapy for some rear limb lameness. Her lameness is improving and she is doing well. It is very hard to get a pup to focus but look at Reagan's determination!
No we don't do therapy on bears but this gorgeous Newfoundland could be mistake for one. Itty Bitty Bella is brand new to rehab. She had a CCL Repair (cranial cruciate ligament repair) back in December and now is experiencing some weakness with lameness. Bella is trying her hardest in the treadmill but as you can see on the second slide, when a Newfie is done, they're done. Bella is a very loved and spoiled girl! Welcome to Rehab beautiful girl!
Duke may look sad but he's definitely not. He comes to therapy every two weeks to get laser for chronic Lumbo-Sacral disease and for arthritis in his elbow. Duke also walks in the underwater treadmill to help maintain his mobility. We love Duke's sweet disposition and what a perfect patient he is!
Therapy isn't just for dogs! This Purrr-fect feline fella is Beans! Beans comes for weekly Laser and Acupuncture for pain management. He enjoys some treats while laying still during his sessions. Do you have a feline family member that could benefit from therapy? Give us a call! We'd love to answer any questions you may have!
Winston "Ain't Nothin' but a HOUND DOG" but he doesn't cry all the time. He is a big ol snuggle bug that requires kisses and belly rubs during his laser therapy. Winston is recovering from a TPLO surgery, but if you ask Winston he says he feels fine.
We are so lucky to get to work with such a smart boy like Curry! Curry is performing exercises on a Fit Disc to help him gain core strength and build muscle in his rear limbs. The Fit Disc is just one of many therapeutic exercises Canine Rehab offers.
Zoey is relaxing after working hard during her therapy session. She came to Rehab following a knee surgery. Therapy has helped her decrease some lameness she was having while building muscle and gaining strength. Zoey has been doing a great job!
Way to go Zoey!
