One week without you… it’s getting harder to pretend you’re not just out front playing when I don’t see you inside, that you’re sleeping elsewhere when you’re not at my feet. I don’t want to accept that you’re really gone.

Suede being a carbon copy of you is so bitter sweet, it makes me smile and cry all at the same time as she is just so naturally “you” in so many ways. She stares into my soul like you, and sometimes I swear it’s you talking through her.

The nights are the hardest, you brought a sense of peace and security. No one would make it close to us with you on guard, I trusted you, if you barked or tensed up, it was worth getting outta bed for.

And anyone who has ever tried to open our bedroom door past “bedtime” has been met with a black flying carpet with piercing eyes before they could even get through the door way.

Hug your LC babies for me, and please allow space and time to reply to messages as I simply don’t want to talk much yet ❤️

How do I put into words almost a decade of memories with you. I simply can’t. My heart is broken, I’ve lost a piece of my soul.

I always thought I would get to plan my goodbye to you. I thought I would have time to take you on a last trip, give you your favorite foods, one last photoshoot, one last night of snuggles, one last grooming, you loved to “get pretty” one last play session. In a way though God gave that to me, he just didn’t let me know that’s what I was doing because he knew my heart would break. 2 weeks ago you got groomed, then we left for Mississippi to spend Christmas with Lindsey’s family, we even extended our visit due to weather and stayed for NYE./NYD. You got chicken nuggets on the way there. You weren’t eating great that week so I made you “special bowls” several days and shared cereal with you late at night while feeding Hudson. For almost a decade you’ve eaten “the last” of my night time cereal bowls. You slept on the bed every night. You laid at my feet every day as we played cards. You rode shot gun and ran errands with me. You were there for Hudson’s first Christmas, and I did a photoshoot. You made the road trip home and the entire pack lost their mind when their alpha returned. I even commented how they were all more excited to see you, kiss up to you to you and romp with you then I’ve ever seen when we’ve returned from a trip. The weather was beautiful the next day so you got to spend a lot of it outside lounging and “watching over your kingdom.” The irony of us giving Katelynn a bite work toy for Christmas and you getting to “bite and tug” moments before we left for the vet… I don’t know how your mass didn’t rupture between all the loading and unloading in the car. Jumping on and off the bed, romping with your pack, the vet say’s it’s a miracle it hadn’t as it was as he had never seen one so large that hadn’t. That was God’s grace to me though, he knew I couldn’t handle seeing you go out like that. You deserved more than to leave this world like that. My gut knew when I felt the mass over Christmas it wasn’t good, but my heart wasn’t ready. I thought we would get home, get you looked at, and it would be something manageable. Just an old man lump.

Legend, you definitely lived up to your name. Your Legacy will continue on through my business. Through your puppies, grand puppies, and great grand puppies. All the events you worked, lives you touched. Dogs you have mentored, puppies you raised, and hearts you mended that you didn’t break.

We didn’t leave the house thinking we would be coming home without you Poo, Mommy wasn’t ready, but we couldn’t let you suffer. You hide your pain to stay with me longer than you should have been able to, so we faced pain to let you go while you were still stable and with dignity.

Nova & London are waiting for you at the rainbow bridge buddy. Thank you for being the best boy ever, thank you for leaving me your carbon copy to help mend my heart this time. You taught her well sweet boy, Suede will take it from here ❤️

Tater Roo hit the trails with us and her new bestie! Hudson’s slept the whole adventure, but in a few years he will be running along side his doggo’s ❤️

Watching the dogs so naturally and effortlessly adjust to a newborn has filled my heart so much. They know he is “their baby” 🫶🏼

So much to be thankful for today, while beyond thankful for Hudson’s arrival, we can’t forget the kids who made us Mom’s first…

So thankful for our pups and the unconditional love they offer us ❤️

Ollie (one of our OG’s, aka the old lady of the house) patiently waiting for her tiny human to arrive.

We check in at 6pm tonight for Lindsey to be induced. Please keep her and Little Dude in your prayers for a safe delivery. I will be MIA for a few days, but will share with yall once we’re settled ❤️

We are enjoying our last few hours at home loving on the dogs. While we are beyond excited for all of the pups to meet him, we are especially excited for Ollie and Legend as they are nearing 9. Ollie was Lindsey’s first dog, and… well while Legend wasn’t my first, yall know what he is to me ❤️ at their age we know they might only get a few years with Little Dude so these moments with them and him are beyond special to us 🫶🏼

Hudson & His Doggo’s

Those who have actually met Shooter know he has 3 loves 🫶🏼 His Mommy ✔️ Naps ✔️ His herding ball ✔️ Watching him glide around to work the ball is one of my absolutely favorite things ❤️. All of our aussie’s enjoy the herding ball but he is the only one who can “work it back” to me so perfectly. The others, well they end up in the back acreage😂 they would chase the herding ball to the moon 🌙

This kid 🫶🏼 his confidence has flourished so much! I wish I could capture enough footage, and the right words to explain how proud of this boy I am! His Momma, and myself know though, and that’s enough for my heart 💜

Fridays are for store manners, people watching, patio dinners, and building this handsome guy’s confidence ❤️

Not all training videos are fancy foot work, and action packed! Sometimes the hardest thing to accomplish is a down stay, especially when wanting to be with humans is your favorite thing! Breaking eye contact/the ability to see their human and hold the stay is one of the hardest things for youngsters to accomplish. Tie got so bored with his “wait” he flopped over 😂 but I’ll take that over breaking the down! He is also getting more trusted to be “leash free” and walk right with me, even when I take some quick turns he isn’t expecting 👏🏻

When salad fixings aren’t your thing but you don’t want to hurt Mom’s feelings so you take it to be polite 😂

Pool Fun

Swim Lessons for Luna and Shooter, and some jumpy time for Suede! Luna did great for being so young, shooter say’s he will stick to land activities of herding, fetch, and frisbee.

Tatum

Not even a year old and look at her 😍 I can’t wait to see what this girl is like when she is fully mature 💕

Dock Diving

Took an hour out of the day to have some fun with Suede and Dudley. It was so good for my soul, and for them ❤️ Yes I love training everyone’s fur babies, but I often forget to pause and enjoy my own. Fun was had by all if you can’t tell 🤪

Baby Gate Saga

When you install a new baby gate prepping for Little Dudes arrival… It turns into an ASPCA commercial 😂
