It's Bulk Waste Collection Week.

Place bulky items on the curb by 7 a.m. Monday of your assigned week. Bulk waste will be collected between Monday and Saturday. Bulky item pick-up is limited to 10 cubic yards (about eight feet long, six feet wide and six feet tall) at no extra charge to each household that receives curbside collection. There is an extra charge for piles exceeding 10 cubic yards.

Garbage & Recycling: Normal collections are scheduled for garbage and recycling collections on Thursday, Jan. 9, and Friday, Jan. 10. Depending on weather conditions, there may be potential delays in picking up carts. All residential collections should resume normal operations on Monday, Jan. 13.

Upcoming holiday closures

Most City offices, including City Hall, will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

Solid waste services. There will be no collections (garbage, recycling, yard waste or bulk) on Dec. 25. If your normal pickup day is on Wednesday, your pickup will be shifted to Thursday; Thursday service shifts to Friday; Friday service shifts to Saturday. Bulk collections will resume on Thursday. Monday and Tuesday collections will operate on normal collection schedules.

All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage next to the cart on their first pickup day following Christmas. Extra bags will be collected by a separate truck on your collection day, and may be picked up earlier or later than your carts. Please do not call to report a missed collection if your extra bags are not collected at the same time your carts are collected.

The City’s four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Dec. 25 and reopen Dec. 26.

Animal Care & Control: North Animal Campus and Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center will be closed Nov. 28-29. Normal operations resume Saturday, Nov. 30. Both Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will be open on Friday, Nov. 29, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Libraries: All Fort Worth Public Library locations will be closed Nov. 28-29.

Recreational amenities: All community centers will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 27. On Nov. 28, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, FW@6 programs, Log Cabin Village and the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will be closed. Rockwood Golf Course will be open on Thanksgiving Day; other municipal golf courses will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. All municipal golf courses will be back to regular operating hours beginning Friday, Nov. 29. McLeland Tennis Center will close at 3 p.m. Nov. 27 and be closed Nov. 28.

Water utility: To access the automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency, call the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.

Mass transit: On Nov. 28, Trinity Metro TEXRail will have regular service. Trinity Metro buses and Trinity Metro On-Demand (paratransit) buses that operate on Sunday, including the Orange Line, will have hourly service. Molly the Trolley will run every 30 minutes. Trinity Metro On-Demand in Alliance, Mercantile, North Side, Southside, Southeast and South Tarrant will operate 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no service for Trinity Railway Express (TRE), TRE LINK and the CentrePort Circulator, Trinity Metro On-Demand in TCC Northeast and Mansfield. The ticket sales kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station will be closed.

On Nov. 29, all services will resume regular service except for TRE, TRE Link and the CentrePort Circulator. TRE and TRE Link will operate on a Saturday schedule. CentrePort Circulator will not operate. Also, Trinity Metro On-Demand TCC Northeast will not operate. The kiosk will be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
