In early September, 9-month-old Harvey was found as a stray, unable to put weight on his hind leg and in serious pain, possibly from being kicked by a horse. Due to his condition, he was placed on the euthanasia list, with his only hope lying in a rescue stepping in. Fortunately, we agreed to take him.
After urgent X-rays revealed a broken tibia, Harvey underwent surgery to repair his leg. Our skilled surgeons were optimistic about his full recovery. However, the night before surgery, he showed signs of an upper respiratory infection, but the risk of losing his leg compelled us to proceed.
Shortly after arriving at his foster home, Harvey’s condition worsened, and he was rushed to the ER, where X-rays revealed pneumonia. He was admitted for treatment and has started to improve, showing signs of recovery by eating and breathing better. We remain hopeful that soon Harvey can return home to his loving foster family. Harvey’s current bill is over $15,000, with your support on North Texas Giving Day, we can continue to transform the lives of animals like Harvey, giving them the second chance they deserve.
