Keep your pets safe this season.

Several things to know about coyotes this time of year. With so much misinformation being spread on Facebook posts maybe this will help.

1. Coyotes can be seen anytime of the day or night. It doesn’t mean they are sick.

2. It’s mating season and the alpha male and female are pairing up in their territory in preparation to raise a family. They are not more aggressive, just more protective of interlopers near their mates and den sites.

3. The females are not unaware of where they will give birth as she has prepared several places throughout the year.

4. No one has a pet coyote that just got loose and is wandering the neighborhood. One can speculate on a coyote’s lineage, but without DNA to prove it’s a hybrid… it is still a coyote.

5. Coyotes are not starving, there’s simply too much easy pickings. They are most always fat and fluffy in the winter due to their diet and winter coat which changes seasonally.

6. They are not lost. They know exactly where they are and what’s going on in their territory, even if acres of woods are taken down.

7. Shooting is frowned upon in a residential setting.

8. Coyotes are not too fast or so smart that they can’t be caught. One just has to be smarter than the coyote.

9. Coyotes do not wish to be hugged or booped. Seriously.

10. Coyotes are coyotes no matter where you find them… and will behave just as they were created to behave.

Promoting this Girl! Who is still looking for her FOREVER. Her name is Ellie - She is a black German Shepherd mix (NOT THE SIZE OF A GERMAN AT ALL!) She is good on or off leash. She is fully vetted. She does have some hip dysplasia and ear issues currently being treated. Which is making her adoption options slimmer but she is roughly 5yrs old & a great dog!!!

With Christmas around the corner. Garland is going up and CATS LOVE GARLAND!!!
So please please keep and eye on your cats when out and around Garland they love to chew it and swallow it. Which can cause a blockage in their intestines. Sometimes they can get it out on their own other times it requires surgery.
Which can be 100s - 1000s of dollars 💸.

As for my Openings for

I saw someone post this and felt I needed to share it & help spread the word!

Having a friendly dog doesn’t determine whether you’re a good owner or not.
What you do with and how you manage that said dog is what determines it.
Someone trying their absolute best to manage a difficult dog, keeping them safe, thinking of the safety of others, putting effort into training them etc is a much better owner in my eyes than someone who got lucky with an easy, friendly dog with no recall that bounds over to everyone and everything.
“It’s okay, he’s friendly” isn’t a badge of honour, when it’s your dog harassing a dog that is clearly uncomfortable with the interaction.
After seeing yet another social media post blaming all reactive dog owners for under-socialising, under-training, mollycoddling, reinforcing their dogs fear through affection etc, I feel like I need to scream from the rooftops:
MIND. YOUR. OWN. BUSINESS.
Reactive dog owners are trying their absolute best. A quick walk for you might feel like scaling Everest for them. They don’t need your ‘advice,’ they need you to respect their space and leave them alone. Until you’ve walked in their shoes, back off.
I see your efforts! For those of you trying to work through it you are doing awesome!❤️

As I myself dealt with a dog reactive dog for years and it was extremely difficult at times to deal with her but in the end I loved her to the moon and back and would not give up on her!

She was a shelter dog that got returned 3xs before ending up with me. I had her until she was ready to leave us and go to doggy heaven.

In that time. I had a bunch of ups and downs with her and other dogs interacting with her. She was very very picky on who she allowed to play with her and if a dog dare go face first to her, she would attack them!
So walking her and worrying about an off leash dog approaching her was always my worst nightmare 😱 😨. Walks were limited and vary few in-between. I tried my best to give her what she needed which was time, love, affection, patience and work. Lots of work! So I understand what it's like to have a reactive dog. Sadly she's no longer with us but she was my soul dog.
Pat on the back to ALL THOSE HUMANS who have reactive dogs and still try for them. ❤️

December - I will not be able to board any pets in my home this month! I appoligize for any inconveniences in advance.
As a 15/16yr old cat will be joining my family and he will need this time to adjust & decompress.

"Why I shouldnt walk and run beside you today. Because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. All while I feel my paws burning. Even as little as 5 minutes can be fatal to me and to my paws. My whole body starts boiling, but I’ll keep going because I am as loyal as loyal comes. I depend on you to know what’s in my best interest. So instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. A cool area with grass would be best. With all the love I have in the whole world - I give it all to you - Love your dog 🩷🐾 "
