This obnoxiously adorable little cotton ball came in for a puppy check with us the other day. Cameron recently got adopted so his previous owner wanted to make sure he was nice and healthy before going to his new home.
He weighed in at a whopping 2.86lbs. I'm guessing at least half of that is just pure floof. What do you guys think?

Did you know that not only do we have doctors that go out to dairys and farms to service large animals, but we also offer in-office procedures as well. For example, Stella here came in the other day and was spayed! Now she can run free with the other little piggies with no fear of having any piglets joining the family any time soon.

Today, 05/15/24, both offices- Fortuna and Ferndale, will open at 7am to take calls for same day urgent appointments and anything else you may need, but we will be closed from 8am-10am for a work place meeting.

If your pet experiences an emergency during that time, please call at 707-786-4200 to be connected with our emergency on-call service.

We will re-open for regular hours from 10am-6pm and have regular hours the rest of the week.

Henry recently came in for his establishing check-up with us. He was such a good boy! He really only cared about giving kisses and saying hello to everyone even though his ear was really bothering him.

The term anorexia simply means eating no food. Many people get confused by the human eating disorder anorexia nervosa. When the veterinarian says the pet has anorexia, it does not mean the pet has a distorted body image; it simply means the pet is not eating.

Loss of appetite is one of the most important criteria in determining if a pet is significantly ill or just having a minor malady. When the veterinarian says the pet has anorexia, it means the pet is not eating.

Yesterday we did a mock boarding day with staff pets to make sure our routine/schedule works well, go over check-in paperwork and procedure, and just to have some fun. There are some last minute things we need to iron out, but over-all it was a success! Things are moving along quickly and opening day will be here sooner than we can anticipate.

JJ felt a little sore so decided to try some his of dads arthritis medication. JJ is unfortunately not medically trained so he was not sure what dose he should take and ended up taking a much too large dose.
He was a such a trooper for somebody who had to come in on an emergency visit for involuntary stomach expulsion. He still wanted tummy rubs, head pats, and to say hi to everybody- before and after!

Nothing is quite as fun as finding a look-a-like while you're at work! Rusty came in for his first exam with us and just so happened to become friends with one of our technicians. We almost couldn't tell them apart.
