We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization i Laurens County, SC. We use trained Volunteers with our riders to maintain safety at all times. Our instructor is Sharron Dillard who is a Certified therapeutic riding instructor (Path Intl) and Certified in Equine Assisted Learning (OK Corral). LSU offers therapeutic riding, Equine Assited Learning, Silver Stirrups for 50+, LSU Eagles (Veterans program), and

" HORSE POWERED READING" PROGRAM. Tiny Trotters Therapy Horses are a program of LSU also. Our Tiny Trotters program offers "JUST SAY WHOA TO BULLYING" program, visits to senior living centers, visits to day cares and schools, and community events. "HORSE POWERED READING" program- Students interact with horses from the ground, while using toys and games and props to identify obstacles and learn five critical reading skills- phonetic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.

Our Story 2020

Dear Friend, Feb 2020

Let’s Saddle Up Therapeutic Horsemanship is a friendly, family-oriented riding program that caters to Special needs individuals, Senior adults, and Veterans. We have safe successful horses for all our riders and provide a fun, encouraging environment. We use 9 lessons horses that we use for therapeutic riding, therapeutic driving, or equine therapy. In 2019, we gave 856 lessons and 12 miniature horse visits in the upstate of SC.

Recently, Lets Saddle Up has celebrated our 8th year in the Upstate of SC, particularly the Fountain Inn area. We are located at Solid Rock Stables, 1907 Durbin Road, Fountain Inn, SC.

It is through the generosity of people like you that “Let’s Saddle Up” can provide therapeutic riding to our Seniors, Veterans, and Special Needs Individuals. Through the recruitment and training of volunteers we are able maintain the safety standards required for a riding program such as ours.

We need your help. The cost for a Special Needs child to ride is $240 for six weeks. This nominal fee just barely covers the cost of instruction and the use of the horse. We have many people who contact us about lessons for their family member, but very few can put out that much money. Our Veterans ride at no cost to them. It was our belief in the beginning that our Veterans have given enough. We need sponsors for these veterans and horses to carry these larger riders.

Community support is an essential part of our program. We give back to the community by taking our “Tiny Trotters Therapy Horses” to local nursing home, schools, and day cares. These miniature horses have brought many smiles to children and adults when we are out in the community. Our Tiny Trotters and their handlers are now Qualified therapy teams, thru the American Miniature Therapy Horse Association. They are the first qualified teams in SC. Sharron is an evaluator for AMTHA for SC.

Our most exciting news is that Tiny Trotters has recently joined a group to teach bullying prevention in schools. “Just Say Whoa to Bullying” is an innovative program and the first of its kind to teach bullying prevention using animal- assisted activities with miniature horses.
