Miss Betty, mother to Dierks, rescued in 2010 with 15 of her closest friends including her stud muffin and Dierks Daddy, Romeo. We estimate Betty to be in her mid 20's and she is certainly rocking it. Looking good girl!

Dierks and Romeo a have lived their best lives with Jennifer Krug. Sadly, Romeo passed a few years ago but Dierks is still thriving.

Baby Opal had a scare last night. I noticed she was not her perky "mare" self and upon further examination, I determined she was choking. She was calm about it but clearly not happy.

I got her haltered and massaged her neck for what seemed like hours. It seemed to resolve and she actually showed some interest in her hay but this morning, it was obvious she was still not right.

Thankfully, Wednesday is our vet and farrier day and the awesome Dr. Robinson took great care of her.

Opal "Opie" is a three year old very pale palomino splash paint. She is beginning her training in earnest this summer. We hope to have her ready for her forever home soon.

We need some help y'all. It's a double whammy.

As many of you know, we board some horses, mostly those who adopt from us, to provide a steady stream of income to care for the rescue horses.

A well meaning lady bailed several horses from the kill lot back in 2020. Her heart was in the right place but the economy did not care.

We brought her horses here to give her a reduced cost for board and we have been able to re-home some of her original 20 horses to great forever homes.

Recently, things got worse for her and try as she might she just couldn't continue.

So she surrendered the remaining 9 horses to Dreamcatchers, knowing we would do what was needed to always keep them safe and healthy

We are currently working to catch up on needed maintenance that she was not able to afford, vaccines, hoof trims, teeth floats and deworming.

The double whammy is that, not only have we lost the board revenue that at least helped keep them fed and fat, we have taken on the cost of the maintenance.

We are hopeful that we will be able to find great homes for many of these horses but they will need evaluation and additional training.

We are asking for your help. Donations can be made thru PayPal.me/dcerinc

We will be launching fund raisers thru zeffy and go fund me later today.

Got a call from a very nice man on the other side of the highway about this little guy hanging out by his front gate for the last several days.

He tried to get him help but every call to officials was a run around or dead end.

He called me to see if I could help. I went over not sure what I was looking at and because our truck is in the shop. I had no trailer.

Well, this little guy is maybe 36 inches tall, hooves are awful but thankfully not slippered badly. He's maybe a 2 1/2 on the body condition scale. He also still has those pesky testies.

So long story short, I caught him with some grain and we began the slow walk toward Dreamcatchers Equine Rescue . Average speed was 3 miles per hour and we had 3 miles to go.

Hes a little trooper and though he's pretty tired, he made it and is now tucked in to a stall for the night.

The brand inspector will be by to check him out tomorrow.

First met this guy in 2004 when he was owned by a wonderful old cowboy named Maynard.

4 Star Cool Cat was a breeding stallion and the culmination of years of Maynards breeding program aspiring to produce the finest reiners.

Cat was 4 and he was in a pasture full of mares in all his glory!

Sadly Maynard passed away in 2010 but happily, we were entrusted with this awesome boy.

He was adopted and returned a couple times over the last 15 years but has now settled in to retirement at the ripe old age of 25 and loves his life with his friends in the old fart barn.

We love our old farts and pray we will continue to be able to offer retirement to him and all of our awesome old farts.

Please buy your raffle tickets today. A chance to win a beautiful RV and help the horses! WIN WIN
