Emerald Hill Farm, is situated amidst lush pastures and wooded trails on 230 acres of gated farmland.
We are a small, high-quality hunter jumper show, boarding and training barn in Eastern North Carolina. We focus on providing outstanding care and for both horse and rider. The farm offers spacious 12 x 16 stalls with Stablecomfort padded floor system, ample turn out with four board fencing, a 180'x250' riding ring with all weather footing, climate controlled tack room and bathroom, and many other
amenities. Robin Tinney and Christy Burns, well-qualified professional trainers with extensive national experience, work with the Emerald Hill Farm to provide individually-designed training programs. Emerald Hill attends AA ranked shows up and down the east cost.
Tryon Summer 6 was a fun filled week that even included getting to spend some time with one of our favorites, Paige Sutherland! Thank you Christy Burns and Kayla Edwards for all your hard work and training to ensure everyone had a successful show.
The NCHJA Annual show was a huge success for team Emerald Hill. Despite the crazy heat the horses and riders had a great week!
Special Congratulations to Ruth Exum on her 3rd place finish in the E. J. Haun Memorial Medal Final and 6th place finish in the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive South Regional Championship. Also to Cannon Padget and Anna Fountain on their 5th and 7th place finishes in the Children’s Medal Final.
Rachael Schloo’s Galentino R and Kathryn Best were reserve champion in the .85 jumpers at their first show together.
Annaclaire Hudson and Cassoulet were reserve champion in the Low children’s.
Emma Keyzer and TheArtOfCompromise made their debut in the long stirrup ring along with Sarah Geyer and Isle Royale making their debut in the Low children’s
Other highlights include Michelle Minges’ Just chance was Reserve Champion in the baby greens with Christy Burns and Reserve Champion with Michelle in the long stirrup, Kim Shovelin’s Bocelli was Champion in the 2’9 sec A with Christy, Debonair was champion in the 2’9 sec B with Christy and Champion in the long stirrup with Ashley Eatmon. Samantha Egerton and VSH Diamond Spike were able to grab some good ribbons in the Long Stirrup also.

Ruth Exum had lovely equitation rounds earning 4th in the Maclay, 2nd in the NCEA 3’3” Medal, and 5th in the THIS Children’s Medal
Anna Fountain and Conquest were 4th in the .85 jumpers and 6th in the USHJA 2’9” under saddle
Erin DomBroski and Diane Semer’s Ask Nick had nice trips in the 3’3” Green Hunters with Christy Burns in the irons. He also earned top ribbons in the 3’3” junior hunters, including a win in the handy round with Ruth Exum aboard.
Christy Burns and Ashley Eatmon’s Debonair received 3rd and 5th in the USHJA 2’9” Hunters out of 30+ horses.
We had a very busy week this past weekend at the Sandhills Spring Classic, with a large group of horses. Congratulations to all our clients on a wonderful show.

Ask Nick owned by Erin DomBroski and Diane Semer was champion in the Greens with Christy Burns up and in the Children’s Hunter division with Ruth Exum in the Irons. Ruth Exum had good ribbons in the eq ring including a win in the USHJA 3’3” eq class.

This past Sunday we hosted a clinic with Michael Henaghan. It was a fun and educational day that ended with a surprise birthday celebration. Thank you to our horses, clients, and Mike for a wonderful day.
Our two weeks at Wellington International have come and gone. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
Ashley Eatmon’s Debonair and Christy Burns had a great two weeks in the 2’9 first year USHJA hunters. They were reserve champion the 2nd week
Ruth Exum and Zavall had lovely rounds in very competitive equation classes. They earned 2nd and 5th in the 15-17 eq, 5th in the THIS Medal, and top 12 finish in the Hamel and Maclay.

Anna Fountain and Quite Some had successful trips in the Novice Adult jumpers and also moved up the .95 jumpers! We can’t wait to watch this new partnership grow.
Our new barn manager, Riesling Sullivan, made her debut in the puddle jumpers and had a blast.
Emerald Hill Farm had the best 2 weeks in Wellington. We can’t wait to go back 🐴🌴
