Let's talk Exposure neutral training vs Socail interaction training.

What can the results be if either or are done correctly

Exposure neutral training.

Last night I was able to take the boys to TSC and do some Exposure training. What that means is I sat outside the entrance doors with lots of food the goal was for the boys to ignore everyone including dogs remain calm ( laying down) focused on me.

Both had their Do not pet collars on as I don't allow social interaction at free will. Both are friendly if asked. Goose is too friendly and gets over stimulated and will jump something we are working on.

I want them to understand that they an excist in how traffic how stimulated environments and remain chill. By not allowing interactions and they solely get the best of the best from me they start become neutral and unpahsed by distractions.

Now turn the table and do let's talk about social interactions. Most dog owners love when fluffy is happy to meet other dogs and people. They love letting them say "hi" problem is the dog is finding the other end of the leash way may rewarding then the right end, you!

This is where we get dogs who are leash reactive bc they have been taught when you see a person or dog get really excites drag my owner over to them jump and I'll get attention. In theory that is why most "unwanted" behaviors occur.

Be me doing limiting to non existing interactions my dogs are like yea so moms way cooler lol and I don't tend to have the issues

Class covers teaching a loose leash, place stay, down/sit, Leave it level 1, focus/engagement level 1+ level 2 with food distractions and mild environment, level 1 building a better recall, learning how to use play and motivation in your training! $125 for 6 weeks! 10 weeks and up

Advanced dogs should have an understanding of down and sit and level 1 focus/ engagement with a slight understanding of walking on a leash

Chance is on his 2nd private lesson. We are working him through not bolting with everything that scares him. Next lesson we will be doing full engagement as he is taking food now Theses videos he is just learning to relax with triggers men and kids would normally make her bolt. Along with walking the side walk with the cars going by. This is his 2nd lesson and he's slamming it.

We have started our running season. Training a new group of dogs! We are part of the slow slow club lol we haven't ran in a good year!

Look at kodas transformation. He was so nervous of the harness he would attack you. I am using what ias called opt in and opt out behaviors. He chooses to put it on and when I see he getting bit nervous we stop training.
