This year my students and I grew a TON of tomatoes, peppers and flowers from seed. My
classroom looked like a jungle for months. I grew extra at home and planted way more tomatoes and hot peppers than I probably should have.

My failed strawberry bed was repurposed for watermelon and pumpkins and so far has been a success.

Klip Dagga is a staple. This years plants were grown from last years seeds.

After harvesting the garlic I moved the bed and replaced it with a smaller one to grow squash and cukes for Daisy.

We didn’t do much for duck breeding/hatching this year, but we will get back into it next year!

We’ve been busy with our regular 9-5s and raising our new puppy, but we’re still here and still working on the farm!

Our oldest Silkie hen, Giggles, hatched 3 Welsh Harlequins ducklings last week! She and all the silkies have been excellent adoptive parents 💜

Cayugas (pictured) started laying on Thursday (2/22/24) and today we got our first Welsh Harlequin egg!

Plans are to hatch a few Welshes as our girls are now pushing 2 years old as egg production will slow down and hatch as many Cayugas as we can.

Cayugas only lay around 150 eggs a year and are not always easy to hatch, which are the two main reasons we do not sell Cayugas hatching eggs.

For comparison, Welshes lay anywhere from 150-350 eggs a year.

I should get a couple more peach trees

A Tyngsboro farm says they will not have a peach crop this year because of some extreme cold back in February.
