Tomorrow! Come check out the Francestown Rec Dept tack sale in the middle of town at the horse sheds! Registration is $5 and goes to the FRC which sponsors town events. Attending the sale is free. You can register via email or just come on down to set up between 9-10, and the sale starts at 10. You supply your own table.

Fellow horse friends who travel! My amazing cousin has opened Fuzzy Muzzles Horse Hotel in New Haven, VT. If you are traveling north for leaf peeping this fall or shows in the area and are looking for overnight boarding, Abbe’s barn is where you want to be. This weekend filled the cup on so many levels. Great horsemanship, making new friends, and lots of learning. Many thanks to everyone who came to our clinic with Georges Malleroni, and also thanks to Georges for everything we learned. We can’t wait to see him again at the end of the summer.

Last Sunday we had our second show from our Schooling Jumper Series. You can track your points here and we will update them as our shows happen. At the end of the series the points will be tallied and we will have our awards banquet to celebrate everyone's hard work!

Big thanks to everyone who came out for our second Frogton Pond Schooling Jumper Series show today! It was our first outside show and the day was perfect. Can’t beat sunshine and time with horses and new friends.

I have a LOT of pie books, right? I certainly have not seen every single recipe in all of them. I also sell mini pies and tarts at the Francestown Community Market, so tonight I was perusing a book and found this. At the first market, I made something called Pony Pie, which is a play on Derby Pie (neither contain ponies) and I chose it because I’m a horse farm at the farmers market.. clever, right?

Well, tonight I found something that is more directly horse related, and I have to tell you, I was pretty shocked. Please note: I am NOT making this one. It’s a little too much horse-direct content for me. Lemme just head out to the loft to grab a bale and drag it to the kitchen? Good grief. NO.

However. Tomorrow Frogton Pond be back at the market. No hay pies, but I will have mini plum rustic tarts, mini chocolate hazelnut cream pies, mini blackberry rhubarb pies with toasted almond cobbler(rhubarb from Greentwist Acres!), and maple nutmeg cream pie by the slice. I’ll also have my handmade watercolor paint, handbound sketchbooks, horse antic stickers and some pouches.

Our next schooling show is happening on May 26, 10am-2pm.

Our shows are laid back and perfect if you want a low pressure show with great horsemanship and some fun prizes. Whether you are easing into shows as a rider, have a horse that is learning the ropes, or just want to come have some fun, our schooling shows are absolutely for you.

Another wonderful day at camp included playing games on horseback that doubled as a way to cool down. The horses drank some of the water and some ended up cooling our campers off too!
