That’s a wrap on 2024 ❤️🐶
⛄️25 Days of Do Overs ⛄️
In the days leading up to Christmas, we will be sharing stories of the dogs that have truly left a paw print on our hearts this year. As we reflect on the tireless efforts we've put in during our inaugural year as an organization.
We hope these tales will ignite a spark within you to join our cause or become a hero to a furry friend in need.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season from our RDO Family to yours. Let's raise a toast to the life-changing year we’ve had and to another year of life-saving ahead!
✨Janice✨
Janice spent months in a shelter, being overlooked and longing for a family to call her own. But when we met her, we couldn't understand why she was there in the first place - she is such a sweet and loving girl! We were determined to find her a foster placement, and quickly brought her into a loving home. Unfortunately, her first foster home didn't work out, and we were in a race to find her a new placement. We couldn't bear to bring her back to the shelter.
Thankfully, one of our amazing volunteers stepped in and became Janice's bridge to her happily ever after! When Janice met her potential adopters, she immediately made herself at home. She was incredible with the two young girls in the family, sleeping in bed with them and listening to them read. She became their very best friend in no time.
And today, for Christmas, her family made it official - surprising Janice, now Reba, and her two little best friends with the news that they get to be together forever. What a heartwarming and joyful ending to Janice's story! 💕

💕Olive 💕
Olive's story is a powerful reminder of the incredible resilience and forgiveness that animals possess. Despite the hardships she endured in her past, Olive remained one of the sweetest and most loving dogs we have ever encountered. Found as a stray with a gaping wound running the length of her back, Olive was in excruciating pain. The cause of her injury remains a mystery - whether it was a chemical burn from homemade flea medication or road rash, we may never know.
Upon arriving at the shelter, Olive tested positive for heartworm, further complicating her already dire situation. With limited time and resources available, her days at the shelter were numbered. That is, until we welcomed her into the RDO family. The road to recovery was not easy for Olive, as she struggled through a difficult heartworm treatment that left her vomiting blood and trembling. Her foster mom stayed by her side sleeping on the floor beside her, providing comfort and care until Olive finally began to show signs of improvement.
As Olive's health improved, so did her spirit. The bond formed between Olive and her foster family was unbreakable, making it difficult to say goodbye when the time came for her to find her forever home. However, when her perfect match arrived, it was clear that Olive was meant to be with them. Now thriving in her new home, Olive's past traumas are nothing but a distant memory.

❤️🩹 Theo’s Recovery Update ❤️🩹
❤️🩹Update on Theo’s Journey to Recovery❤️🩹
We are thrilled to share the incredible progress Theo has made on his journey to recovery! When we first rescued him back in September, he weighed just 13 lbs and was unable to stand, walk, or even lift his head. He had been left abandoned in a crate, suffering from neglect and illness, covered in his own waste, and battling severe malnutrition and parvo.
After receiving exceptional care from CNY Veterinary Medical Services, he was released on October 1st! RDO's VP went to pick Theo up and despite initial concerns about his fear/anxiety, Theo jumped straight into Jamie’s arms… and hasn’t let go since! Jamie had initially planned to bring Theo to his foster home, but Theo decided otherwise. He refused to let go, and Jamie couldn’t resist bringing him home! Since then, Theo has been learning to trust people and discovering what it means to be a dog in a loving home.
Theo’s recovery is progressing well. His bowels are improving daily, and this shy little guy now has a tail that won’t stop wagging whenever his person is near. He has turned into an extreme snuggler, giving literal hugs, and is slowly overcoming the obstacles from his traumatic background. While he’s still working on being comfortable outdoors, his progress has been heartwarming.
Our current focus is on his socialization. Theo has come a long way from those first few days when he was afraid of his own shadow. We’re ensuring his nutritional and dietary needs are met as he gains weight, helping him become the healthy, happy dog he’s always deserved to be.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support and generosity of our community. Your contributions have enabled Theo to receive the hospitalization, parvo treatment, and medical services he so desperately needed. Thank you all SO MUCH for being a part of Theo’s journey! 🫶🏼

Miracle Murray
🐾 Our amazing pup Murray is making incredible progress every day! Her foster mom says that she is now actively seeking out attention, loves belly rubs and asks for more when you stop. Murray is now getting up and walking around, exploring her surroundings. While her back end is sometimes strong, she still struggles at times, but she is steadily improving! 💪🏼
🫢In a surprising turn of events, the vet believes Murray is actually younger than we initially thought. They estimate her age to be only 5-7 years old! This news has us thrilled and filled with hope for Murray's future. We can't wait to see her continue to thrive and grow stronger each day. Murray truly is a miracle pup! ☀️ 🌈
Destiny Update
✨ Destiny Update ✨
Earlier this week, Destiny underwent a double enucleation surgery to remove her eyes, which had become painful and enlarged due to glaucoma. Thanks to the support of our community, we were able to get Destiny the surgery she needed promptly. She is now recovering beautifully in her foster-to-adopt home. Destiny is on the road to a brighter future, and we couldn't have done it without your help! 🥹🫶🏼 Thank you so much 💕
Murray Update
💕Murray Update 💕
Murray behaved like an angel during her vet and graciously accepted their assistance with grateful eyes. They were able to trim her overgrown nails and determined that she does not have mange. The hair loss she is experiencing is likely a result of a severe flea infestation. The vet prescribed an ointment to help heal her sores.
Currently, Murray is receiving pain medication, anti-inflammatories, and antibiotics to help her recover. Once she regains her strength, she will undergo surgery to remove a mass from her ear.
She is now back in her foster home, resting comfortably and receiving all the tender loving care she deserves. We are incredibly grateful to her dedicated foster home for their exceptional care of this sweet girl. In just 24 hours her progress has been nothing short of a miracle!
