We want to thank Franklin County High School (Frankfort, Kentucky) Young Republican's Club for hosting a supply drive for us. They received a lot of really great donations for our guests! Thank you to their teacher, Mr. Lee, for dropping everything off to the shelter! It is always great to see young ones get involved and making a difference.

This is the story of POPPY!!!

From Jenny, Poppy's Mom:

"We live in Ormond by the Sea, Fl. We moved here from Frankfort 4 years ago. I follow Life House on FB. Amanda Mullins posted a picture of Poppy, her sister had been adopted but there had been no interest in Poppy. Poppy & her sister were rescued at a farm sale. Anyway, I posted a comment that if I was in Frankfort, I would come get her. My friend, Kari Welch, who is a big Life House supporter commented she'd bring her to me. So Kari & I started texting, fall break was coming up.....Kari, her hubby & son brought Poppy to us and visited a few days. We would be lost without her. Our older boy (also a rescue), Roscoe, loves having a sister. Kari got Poppy here Oct 1, 2023. She was born May 9 of that year. Amanda checks up on her & even sent her a Christmas present last year."

Scooter wants to scoot right into your lap! He is cute, likes to cuddle, and is smart. In other words, he’s the perfect little guy! He prefers a home without really small children. He is four years old and weighs around 15 pounds.

Charlie Brown is a 10 year old Pomeranian who sure is frisky for his age! He is a sweet little fella who weighs around 9 pounds. Charlie Brown is heart worm positive. He needs someone who can take him through the process of treatment. This will require kennel rest. If you would like to be a medical foster for him, please reach out. He’s so sweet though…you just may turn out to be a foster fail and keep him for yourself! 😉

Another Christmas ornament paint party at Lifehouse is in the books! Elements Clay Studio did a fabulous job of setting everyone up for success and fun! Painting, friendship, awesome treats, visiting dogs and cats…it truly was the best kind of gathering. Thank you to all who participated. The interest form lists the complete job description, physical requirements, availability and commitment needed, and more so that you can see if this is a good volunteer fit for you.

Dog shift means you are responsible for a shift where you take care of our shelter dogs' physical needs including potty breaks, cleaning up messes, straightening and cleaning kennels, doing laundry, and more.

** Note - There is a place on the interest form to ask questions so we encourage you to use the form rather than posting questions in the comments on this post so that we can answer your questions individually based on your needs!

As you start your holiday shopping, consider stopping by the Frankfort Peddlers Mall at 312 Versailles Rd. The LIFE House has a booth and we have all of our holiday items out for dogs, cats, and even some stuff for people! All of the proceeds from sales at the booth go to benefit our shelter guests. And a sale begins on items on Tuesday, November 25th!

**UPDATE, we have received several applications for Gracie that are being reviewed! Thank you so much!**

It is our pleasure to present to you, Gracie the amazing baby Aussiedoodle. She cuddles, she plays…her mere existence brings joy to all who behold her. Gracie is a two month old 12 pound floofer who is currently being house trained and crate trained in her foster home. She’s still learning, but having a great time doing it. This youngster gets along well with other dogs and cats. She’s looking for a human to call her own, tag you’re it!! Keep in mind this mix of breeds can get rather large. This current nugget could grow up to weigh 60+ pounds.
