Here are our last group of first fresheners that will be kidding next year. All 3 will be kidding as yearlings, and we’re so excited to see how they freshen. Sarge makes some looong kids, so crossed with Money, we should have some slinky babies out of these girls. We have waitlist openings on doelings from these pairs. Bucklings will most likely be sold without papers, but that will be determined after they kid.

I’m going to do a separate post for first fresheners and there are a few due in late March that haven’t been confirmed yet. We have been very busy this fall and haven’t had the time to post much. We (hopefully 🤞) have everyone bred and have confirmed pregnancies on a little over half of the girls. Once we confirm more, I will update the kidding schedule and repost it here. We have a couple exciting changes that need to be made to it. We have openings on most of our doe’s waitlists, so let us know if you’re interested in any kids.

In October, we attended the ADGA convention in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It was a great time with friends and we learned so much while auditing the judges training conference and attending the AI clinic. Here are some pictures from our trip.

We’ve confirmed these pregnancies so far. All are first fresheners, but they’re all exciting pairings that we’re looking forward to seeing kids out of! We have a few more that we’ll hopefully be confirming soon. Message us if you want to be added to any of these doe’s waitlists.

We’ve confirmed pregnancy on our first set of breedings yesterday and got our next round in pens. The boys are thrilled; the girls, well, not so much.

High Lonesome SH Shy Money in all of his rutty glory. I’ve always loved watching this guy on the move. He only had one set of twin bucklings born this year, but they were sold without papers due to their dam being a first freshener. They were just as eye-catching as their sire, though. With Shyloh getting older, we’re very glad we kept Money to use. We’ll be using him on 2-3 does this year and can’t wait to see more of his kids.

We’re starting to dry up the last couple of does that we were milking. This morning I took this picture of St Arnes Farm A Summer Rain EEEE91 7 year old 6th freshener at 8 months fresh. I can’t wait to see how she does on test next year. Recently, we bred her with Old Mountain Farm Royal Mead 1xGCH and Primrose Hill U Maximus Donum *B. Kids will be DNA’d. We’re very excited for these kids, as Fiona is a favorite around here. I may be hoping for a doeling out of both sires, but our waitlist is open for this breeding.

Today I realized we haven't introduced this keeper kid yet. Her sale fell through this summer, and even though we didn’t need anymore kids, we were kind of glad it happened. High Lonesome BS Spicy Mojito is out of Sweeter Than Honey Taquito and The RZ Acres Benevolent Sarge VVV88. After being shaved, she wasn’t thrilled to be doing photos, so this is the best we got. We’ve kept all of Sarge’s daughters and one son this year. He consistently produces really long dairy kids. He will be available after this breeding season as we plan to retain more from him next year and won’t have much work for him left.
