This past week or so has been a rough one, for various reasons, but, several days ago we came home to a package left on the front porch. We got a new picture of one of our junior herdsires, whom we plan on using quite a bit this year. Primrose Hill U Maximus Donum *B is linebred on the one and only ELITE Farm Oldesoulth LMT Unlimited +*B VEE90. Unlimited was the 2022 ADGA Nationals Premier Sire, sire of the 2022 Reserve Junior National Champion, had 5 daughters place in the top 10 of their classes at the 2022 ADGA Nationals, and had 4 daughters place in the top 10 of their classes at the 2024 ADGA Nationals. He was also the sire of 4 sons that sired multiple goats in the top 10 and top 20 at the 2024 ADGA Nationals. Max’s dam was the 14th place junior kid at the 2022 ADGA Nationals, and his maternal grandam was the 3rd place 2 year old and 3rd place udder at the 2022 ADGA Nationals, and the 12th place 4 year old at the 2024 ADGA Nationals. His maternal grandsire, Better Wayz HB Hills Amos *B, is the littermate brother to SG ELITE Better Wayz Carabear 2*M EEEE91.

We had an unbelievable weekend at the Mid Summer Open Dairy Goat Show. Thank you to the judges and show staff for putting in all the work to make the show happen. Not only did we have a successful weekend in the ring, but we made new friends and had a great time. We are so excited to announce that we are coming home with our first finished champion! This past weekend marked the end of an era. We started this crazy goat journey just over 10 years ago when we brought home two kids for pets. Carlos, the buck, died in 2018 following an injury which led to pneumonia. Juanita, however, lived a long, peaceful life as the herd queen until Saturday morning when we found her, lying with her best buddies, (Waylon the wether, Etta the fainter, and Ayla, our oldest LGD) and looking like she had just laid down to take a nap.

Sweeter Than Honey Taquito this morning. She sure can put milk in the pail! Excited to get this girl on test next year. Not only is she productive, but she is very correct as well. High socked on udder with one of the smoothest fore udders in our herd.
