This is a GREAT explanation of why we do not offer all day play and have incorporated rest, play and mental exercise in our Daycare Program. Play is great, but it is just one form of exercise, the brain needs to be exercised too. By incorporating group place, not bolting through gates or crate doors we help our canine guests to think, use their brains and have self control. Exhaustion is not how we measure Daycare, it is all about Balance. At K9 Tailshakers, we Play with Purpose!

Daycare before and after play group behind the scenes sneak peek unmuted.

We always post video compilations of dogs playing, although muted with music overlay. In this video we are showing what our amazing providers have been working on BEFORE and AFTER play groups, without being muted. Our providers work incredibly hard outside of just monitoring play groups. They maintain clean and disinfected crates and play areas, log all incidents from loose stool to behavioral issues and communicate with the front office to inform clients, evaluate new clients, feed and water, move dogs from inside play groups to outdoor play groups, review and assemble play groups based on temperament, continually monitor behavior, and so much more. Daycare is incredibly demanding physically and emotionally as providers must always maintain neutral and balanced energy and continually be monitoring dogs and moving dogs. We are super proud of our providers, their education, compassion and dedication to maintaining healthy and safe play groups!
