The oldest recorded evidence of honey collecting, found in the Cuevas de la Araña near Bicorp, Spain, is estimated to be between 8,000 to 10,000 years old. This Mesolithic cave painting depicts a person climbing to reach a wild bees' nest, with bees flying around and honeycombs visible, providing early documentation of human honey harvesting activities.

Well another Black Mountain Sourwood festival in the books. Had a total blast. Met new people and sold a truck load of honey. Thanks to my repeat customers that looked me up from last year. And a SPECIAL THANKS to my baby sister Guindy Stewman and my son Eddie Moses III who drove all the way there and helped me both days. And finally thanks to my lovely wife Michelle Moses that helped as well. I couldn’t have done it without her. See you next year!

Caught my first swarm today. Thanks to my assistant for noticing them.

Feeding and inspecting my bee colonies today. Taking advantage of the warmer temps. Seems my bees are taking advantage of them too. It’s only February 21 and the are bringing in nectar, pollen, and the queen is laying like it’s June. Pretty happy with what I seen. Here is a little video of some larvae and capped brood. Baby bees coming soon!

Perfect night for oxalic acid vaporization. Gotta keep those pesky varroa mites off my honey bees. Using my high speed vaporizer. I love this thing

Born 10/3/2022. New winter bees. Should live 4-5 months. Such a short life, but summer bees live only 45-60 days. They literally work themselves to death.

My girls are so hungry I had to give them a little snack

One of my new NUC colonies I am growing on top of a strong hive below. A new hatching of bees are coming out for their orientation flight. I have 6 of these coming alone nicely.
