Fall is definitely here🍂🌬️ A brisk morning and frisky TB’s that have things to do. This little mare has been one of my more challenging horses that I’ve been doing for a little over a year and a half. She is not a “one size fits all” type of horse to shoe or trim. Her issues have been immaculately managed by her owner with diet, exercise, and some diagnostics from a vet and we keep her comfortable by understanding that we are not going to change issues she was born with, or her conformation so we manage her feet the way they are. It’s been a learning experience for me and the client. And her feet look AWESOME and healthy now. To see her run across her pasture after her trim is a pretty great feeling because we have had some serious ups and downs. There are certain horses that you work on that you have to go away from the conventional or traditional methods and just listen to what the horse wants.

It was about time for some new chaps, the old first pair of chaps went to a girl who’s learning to be a farrier. Feels nice to pass things onto the next person learning about this trade. Thanks Beth Lynn Lewis and Meader Supply for the new chaps, they are SLICK. Beth, I’ll owe you a few Wednesdays.🫡
