I wanted to take a moment to talk about something super important that every pet parent should know: grapes are toxic to dogs! 🐶💔

You might be wondering why something as delicious as grapes can be harmful to our furry friends. While the exact reason for their toxicity is still a mystery to scientists, it's been well-documented that consuming grapes (and raisins) can lead to serious health issues in dogs, including kidney failure. 🚨

Even small amounts can cause reactions, and the symptoms to watch out for include:

- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite
- Abdominal pain

If you suspect your dog has ingested grapes or raisins, it’s crucial to contact a veterinarian immediately! 🏥 Just like our fur~iend Luke's humans did! Thanks to their fast response, Luke is on the road to recovery! Accidents can always happen, and we are here to help!

Meow! It's Duckie the cat here, and I just had to share my experience at UrgentVet. Let's just say, I had a bit of a purr-plexing situation with my urinary issues that required some immediate attention.

From the moment I walked in with my human, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and gentle pets (which I absolutely loved, of course). They understood that I wasn't feeling my best, and they treated me like the royalty I am! 👑

Dr. H was super knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to my human in a way that even they could understand (no easy feat!). They ran some tests and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I appreciated the cozy blankets they provided—perfect for a catnap while waiting for results!

So, there I was, minding my own business and enjoying my daily sunbeam when suddenly, I started feeling a bit "unPAW-sitive". My humans noticed something was off and rushed me to UrgentVet. I was a little nervous at first (who wouldn’t be?), but the moment we walked in, the wonderful staff made me feel so at ease. They greeted me with gentle strokes and sweet words—just what a kitty needs when feeling under the weather! The vet was super kind and really knew their stuff! They ran some tests, and I got some tasty treats afterwards (always a bonus!). 🍗😻

🐾 Meet Gus! 🐾

Today, we had the pleasure of caring for this adorable pup at UrgentVet! Gus came in with a pretty uncomfortable ear infection, and our team was dedicated to making him feel better as quickly as possible.

🐶💔 Ear infections can be tough for our furry friends, causing discomfort and sometimes leading to more serious issues if left untreated. Thankfully, with a thorough examination and a gentle cleaning, we were able to diagnose Gus’s condition and start him on the right treatment.

Gus was such a trooper! He handled his visit like a champ, and even managed to charm all of our staff with his sweet personality. After receiving the care he needed, he left with a wagging tail, and a little extra love from our team. Remember, being attentive to any changes in your dog’s behavior can help catch issues like ear infections early.

For example, pictured here is one of our Team Leads, Toni. She is giving Indy a tour of our Hendersonville Clinic in her favorite blanket and a big hug. Indy was diagnosed with a soft tissue injury and given pain medications to go home. As an excited puppy, our team took steps to calm Indy, and make her more comfortable so her injury wouldn't worsen. We wish her a speedy recovery!

Our trained staff is dedicated to ensuring that every pet receives compassionate care, making their health journey a little brighter! 🌈✨

With the heat still in full swing, remember that our furry friends feel it too! Walking your dog in hot weather can lead to heatstroke and other injuries. Here's why: Concrete and asphalt retain heat, making it much hotter for your pet, and these surfaces can burn their paw pads. When it’s above 80-85 degrees, it’s best to walk your dog in the early morning or at dusk. If that’s not possible, keep walks short and stay on the grass. Always provide plenty of water and watch for signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and confusion. If you notice any of these, bring your pet to us right away.
