This is the creek behind my farm. This is where I’ll be hosting monthly yoga retreats by this fall (after the weather cools down🥵). It’ll be 90 minutes of vinyasa “creek” flow yoga, get it?!🧘🏼♀️💦🤣. Appo, my first llama & I will meet you at the top of our trail, we’ll pack our yoga mats on him🦙, guide you down to the creek. There’s Adirondack chairs at a fire pit & after yoga, we can put on our rain boots, travel up the creek to a waterfall. There’s a hammock park where the creek Y’s off, stump stools in a fern garden🌿 to hang out or even have a picnic up on some large mosey rocks at the top of the hill to look down at everything🌳. I’ll be serving farm to table fresh healthy appetizers along with fresh squeezed juice mimosas.🍾 🍊 🍍 Oh, I’ll be inviting energy healers for private sessions, if you choose, too, such us massage therapy, reiki, shaman, tarot card readings, etc…✨
After we spend the day at the creek, we can work our way up the trail. This is Hank the Tanks farm.🐶👩🏼🌾 He is a majestic warrior, alpha, KING, took 2 bullets to his back last winter & STILL running this place like a boss!!!😎 He greets everyone that visits Fiber, Feather & Fur Farm. He’ll p*e on your car wheel to mark his territory, let’s you know if it’s ok to walk around the farm with Jonah & me, all 140lbs of him! He’s made alliance’s with coyote packs within a mile radius of our heavily wooded area in TN. Hank & his team have taken down several bobcats, tons of infringing coyotes, wild dogs. He’s kept all the lil critters away that try to snag our free ranging fancy chickens so they have peace of mind to live their best life foraging around our farm. Hank sired 2 litters for us, most loyal, confident, yet affectionate livestock guardians we’ve had. I couldn’t do this farming adventure without Hank the Tank, forever grateful for his service….🙏🏻❤️

Took Sarge to his forever farm the other day where he stepped into his alpha & mentorship role perfectly for his new partner, Sugar. Sugar lost her mom a few weeks ago to bone cancer, was grieving, needed Sarge for companionship & he needed a farm where he could be the leader he was put on this earth to be. My farm has too many alphas, thanks to his daddy, Hank the tank, so this was the best fit for him.🎉
Shortly after arriving, an alpaca baby was making her grand entrance!🦙 Sarge knew instinctively what to do! He stayed back during the birth, then after the placenta came out, he knew right away to eat it as the smell of birth (& death) attract predators. He showed Sugar this is what we do to help protect our livestock & she happily followed his lead! Sugar took Sarge all over the farm on a tour. They played in the water tanks, shared a food bowl with no aggression, it was kismet! They became best buds right away & I’m so happy for both of them! Sarge will be missed on my farm, but he is where he belongs now. I am happy to have been his bridge these past 15 months!🐶❤️
Cactus wood with vintage sari silk, leather & alpaca fiber from my herd. This is a dramatic piece for a narrow wall at about 6” wide & 3’ long. Taking this & a few other cactus wood with fiber pieces to this weeks NEW Factory Farmers Market in Franklin under the water tower. I’ll also be this months featured artist for the Art Crawl at the pottery studio in the factory for any local friends that might be interested. Cheers!🎉🦙🎨
🦙✂️My camelids got sheared last week, 17 of them!✂️🦙 It took most of a day, lots of prep work the day before to move them to the barn while keeping the sexes separated. I had to keep them dry from torrential downpour the night before! We set up big tents in the dry lot, filled a barn stall with my 7 ladies, the other with 2 older studs while the teenager males laid in several inches of straw in the paddock to stay dry all night the night before. Then I used the powerful leaf blower to dry them up & blow out the straw the next morning!💨 The shearers can’t shear them if they are wet as it’ll blow the motor out in their equipment, plus fiber can get moldy if not processed right away if wet.😬
I use their fiber to make wall hangings, rugs, dryer balls mostly. The crap fiber that’s not really useable, I can stuff bird nesting balls with it, use it to line my beehives for insulation or in the garden to keep away bugs. There’s so many uses for alpaca fiber!🦙🎉
This is Millie, she’s getting her blanket (body) sheared off, this is the best of their fiber.😍 Getting camelids (I have mostly alpacas & 2 llamas) sheared every spring helps them not to overheat in summer months. If they get wet in the rain having thick fiber, it acts like a sauna & they will overheat. Their fiber is natural body wicking, though, so excellent for socks, insoles in boots, sweaters, scarves, blankets, too! If you have sensitive skin, the hypoallergenic properties of their fiber make a better choice for you, plus it’s softer then wool & other natural fibers.🦙🐑🐐 I collect 3 bags of fiber per alpaca every year, then take it to my fiber mill a few hours from my farm where they pick it clean, wash it, lay it out to air dry in a special ventilated room, then process the fiber into rug yarn, skeins of yarn & dryer balls for me. I can even use the fiber not able to be processed (junk fiber) to felt natural goat soaps Jonah & I make! Have you ever tried felted soap before? It’s a great experience! It’s like the loofah is attached to your soap, natural light exfoliation, saves the soap from melting into the soap tray after each use, bonus!!!🧼
Silly Millie had some dread locks forming on her top knot so Jonah helped me give her a haircut. Now Jonah has an alpaca toup*e!🦙🤣

We have a few extra bird nesting balls available for you or the bird lover in your life! They are so fun to hang in a tree near your house so you can watch the birds fly by with alpaca fiber in their beaks on their way to soften their nests for their babies coming! The alpaca fiber helps keeps their babies warmer, protected from wind, helps keep some predators away & it’s just so soft! Let me know if you’d like a bird nesting ball or two!!🦙🐦⬛😍

Top right is “momma” Jolene, my soul mate & the legit house dog. Bottom left is the Queen of our farm, our original livestock guardian, Miss Charli & Jonah’s bestie. Bottom right is the spit fire of the pack, Rosie or better known as “Lil’ bit”. Jonah’s room is trashed, our OCD went out the window when these guys came into our lives & stole our hearts. Funny how our lives can dramatically change for this funny thing call “Love”….❤️🐶
Today I’m dropping off homemade elderberry tonic to some friends locally. I grow the elderberries myself, add honey from our beehives, Meyer lemons from the trees I grow, plus a few other health boosting ingredients. Elderberry syrup/tonic is an amazing way to fight oncoming colds, flus, allergies & to just maintain optimal health. A magical being was born on our farm this past Friday, Marbella de Gratus, Marbella the grateful, kind, peaceful. She lived 3 loved filled days. We lost her last night, devastated, but filled with love from friends, livestock guardian dogs & the herd. RIP sweet Marbella….❤️🦙
Rosie & Willie are half siblings, they share a dad, Hank the Tank.🐶😍 Rosie is FIERCE, quick to charge, reactive, fast, kicks ass & takes names later. Willie is the lazy alpha & in charge of day shift. They were the solo artists from their litters that didn’t pair off with a partner so became outcast partners. Rosie is impeccable with our chickens. Willie is a lover first, will transition to the Hulk when needed.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Jonah hatched out a few dozen black copper marans over the weekend for several happy customers! He’s prepping his 2 best roos for a show in Knoxville next month!!! We have 6 beautiful chicks still available if you’re wanting your own chocolate colored egg layers! Cheers to chirping chicks!!!🐣🎉😍

WELCOME to Fiber, Feather & Fur Farm!!!👩🏼🌾 Jonah & I (Shani) have been diligently working to build our sweet lil hobby farm in Leipers Fork, TN these past few years! After 20 years of dreaming about having alpacas, I have a gorgeous, colorful herd of show quality breeders to make my fiber art!🦙🎨 Jonah is plugging away at his show quality rainbow laying chickens & racking up the awards for his Buff Orpington, black copper marans, true Amerucaunas & jubilee Orpington!🐔🏅 We recently added 2 bee towers & processed our first round of yummy honey!🐝🍯 We have fallen in LOVE with Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs & training them on wireless GPS collars for hobby farms near us!😍🐶 We also processed our first batch of elderberry syrup, have 3 flavors available from our HUGE elderberry bushes that includes our honey!🌿
