Our mission is to shelter, care for, and advocate for the abused, neglected, and abandoned cats and dogs of the communities we serve by taking steps to control overpopulation and providing healthy animals that will be adopted into loving 'forever' homes. We will accomplish this by responsible stewardship of resources and maintaining a focus on the financial health and well-being of the organization.

🎄🐾 Our Christmas Wish for Sophia 🐾🎄

This Christmas Eve, all of us at Franklin Animal Shelter have one special wish: for sweet Sophia to find her forever home. ❤️

Sophia is a gentle and loving 7-year-old kitty who has been with us since August 2024. She was surrendered due to her diabetes, but don’t let that scare you—managing her care is simple, and she handles her insulin shots like a champ.

Sophia may be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she’s a calm and cuddly companion who loves quiet time with her humans. She prefers a serene environment and would thrive in a calm, indoor-only home.

This beautiful girl is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, litter-trained, and visits the groomer every few months to stay fabulous. Sophia has so much love to give, and we know her perfect family is out there waiting to bring her home.

Kaya is a strong and loving dog who's been through a lot in her life. After being with her first family for many years, she was placed with a second family, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out after only a week. She is now looking for her forever home with someone who can truly understand her needs.

Here’s what Kaya is looking for in a family:

✅ No children & no other pets – Kaya needs to be the center of attention, in a calm, quiet environment.

✅ Mostly house trained & crate trained – Kaya is well-behaved inside and loves having her own space.

✅ Muzzle trained – Kaya is comfortable with wearing a muzzle when needed for safety.

✅ Loves walks – Kaya enjoys getting out for walks and is always excited to explore!

✅ Respect her boundaries – Kaya is independent and likes affection on her own terms. She is very loving, but she must have her space.

Meet Reba! This sweet, 5-year-old girl recently came to the shelter after her human dad passed away on December 2nd. While she's a little sad to be here, her loving and friendly personality shines through.

Reba has liked every person she's met, including children, and she seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. We haven’t introduced her to cats yet, so her feelings about feline friends remain unknown. She’s working on improving her leash manners but is eager to please and quick to learn.

Reba is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to find her next loving home. If you're looking for a loyal companion with lots of love to give, Reba might be the perfect match for you!
