The State Veterinarian confirmed today that Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus Type 2 (RHDV2) was detected in a domesticated rabbit in East Tennessee.

⭐️Senior Care Tip:

As a sanctuary, I can tell you, we have OLD bunnies here! Older buns have a more difficult time hopping into their litter boxes (even the low rise ones). Arthritis and natural aging can cause them to be a bit messy. Our secret weapon to combat stains and accidental p*e p*e spots are these AMAZING pads from Amazon (link below).

Sunday Update: Bunquie is still hanging in there, but unfortunately still not interested in food or treats. I’m having to force feed her and she’s not showing any interest in that either. 😞

*Bunquie Update*

Friday’s update: Bun definitely has an abscess. Our vet isn’t going to drain it for now but opting to do a big round of penicillin. Her X-rays were beautiful so while this is more than likely tooth related, we do not have to pursue removals at this time.

Saturday’s Update: Bunquie is still hanging in there, but seems a little worse than before she went to the vet. She’s congested and gurgling now and not wanting any food or veggies. I think the stress of yesterday’s all day visit to the vet really got to her, so as of right now I’m just leaving her alone and monitoring from afar.

Honestly, I am concerned that she may not make it, but hopefully her strong spirit will get her through this and show me that all my worrying was for not. 🤞🤞🤞

When Buster came to us a few weeks ago, I admit, we were scared. He couldn’t hop or walk and he was so skinny! We’re not quite sure how he lost his abilities but his actions (or lack there of) were that of a bunny who’s been dropped. Please no dissing because although preventable, drops are mostly accidental. Through our therapy program, Buster is now able to be just like other bunnies. Once we are fully sure that he’s A-ok, he’ll be able to find his forever home/person/family. Clover Patch Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 organization committed to the rehabilitation and therapy of disabled and senior bunnies, waterfowl and guinea pigs. Update on Kimbo “Kimmy” our rabbit that had really bad facial trauma that caused him to lose an eye and go blind in the other. He also had a dislocated jaw and a broken bone under his eye, but look at him now...He’s doing AMAZING!! He even has a girlfriend now and binkies 😍 We’ve come a long way folks!

What started out as a normal boring day, ended with a bang. Everyone meet our newest rescue Rami. He’s a young dude that’s had a very rough beginning. He has new and old wounds all over his body and is underweight. He was brought into metro animal control as a stray and they suspect he was attacked by an animal. I think they may be right, but the most worrisome thing about Rami is the infection caking his eyes. The infection around his eyes is bad, I haven’t seen eyes like this since Alfred. Keep you fingers crossed for Rami, he’ll be dropped off at Dr. Given’s office first thing in the morning on my way to work.
