Our Methods

Fresh Canine uses a balanced approach to training a dog. During the learning phase, we use positive reinforcement, shaping, and luring- performing several hundred repetitions of each command and exercise. After each dog learns the commands, we transition to phasing out the rewards, making the response to obedience reliable. Once a dog has mastered the commands, we proof and generalize the behavior by working under distractions.

One week into her 3 week Board and Train and Little Miss Tilly is on the right track. Regularly using the bathroom outside, rocking loose leash walking and able to hold a down stay!

Welcome Tilly! She as 1 yr old French Bulldog checking in for our Board and Train program. A big focus on reactivity to dogs, overall obedience and making some huge strides on her bathroom habits.

Welcome Louie! A 4 month old adorable Sh*tzu. He checked in today for a two week Puppy Head Start Board & Train. So far he thinks dogs are weird (bark! bark!), food is hmm and toys are awesome. He’s sweet as pie and as he settles in I’m sure he’ll make some new friends and learn lots. Stay turned into our stories to watch for updates!
