All work is created and fired on site and on any given day you can see work in progress and Brian at the wheel throwing pots. New work is added to the gallery on a weekly basis so you will never see the same thing. We specialize in functional pottery as well as Raku, Horse Hair, and burnished Blackware and other one of a kind art pottery. Prices are reasonable and customer satisfaction is our goal

and is reflected in our lifetime satisfaction guarantee. We look forward to meeting you and taking time to show you our studio as well as visiting with our many regular returning patrons whom we thank for making Cowee Mountain Clay a successful local pottery destination.

This vase has been in my personal collection for some time. This morning the sun landed on it and reminded me of why it is necessary to have pottery in the home. I just happen to be in the process of making more of these right now.

I don’t use any sealer or lacquer to finish my pots. I use a light coat of wax to protect from fingerprints and oils. The shine is achieved from
burnishing. I don’t use Terra Sigilatta because I don’t want something that could come off the pot. The degree of shine depends on how much time you are willing to spend burnishing.

Burnishing completed ready to slowly dry before firing. I have high hopes for these two.
