Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our veterinary team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to our clients and animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting our veterinarian during examinations, dental and surgical procedures, providing animal care, and ensuring the overall well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dentals and other medical procedures
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Monitor animals' conditions and report any changes to the veterinarian.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam, and treatment areas
- Assist with animal restraint during procedures or examinations
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions

Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is preferred
- Knowledge of pet care practices including grooming, feeding, and exercise
- Familiarity with animal handling techniques and restraint methods
- Proficiency in performing basic laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis are preferred but not required
- Understanding of aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment

Skills:
- Animal husbandry knowledge for maintaining the health and well-being of animals
- Animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and veterinary staff during procedures or examinations
- Dog and cat handling abilities to safely handle pets of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of pet care practices including feeding, exercise, and basic medical needs

Responsibilities

- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercise

- Moderate amount of house keeping and cleaning for the hospital.

Requirements

- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time

- Knowledge of basic animal handling techniques
