WOW, look what we have available for adoption! A very special OTTB,......here is some info from his current foster/trainer.

"Maverick" has come a long way over the winter and spring and has had plenty of successful groundwork (he is with our very best trainer!) He has been introduced to a Western saddle and has gone out a few times on the trails (he hates bugs however, a typical TB). He came from the track with some trust issues but has made a dramatic transformation with his calm and very experienced foster/trainer.

At his recent annual vet visit, the vet remarked that "this couldn't possibly be the same horse I saw last year!"

He is still a bit difficult for the farrier but great progress has been made there as well.

Maverick is 7 years old, sound (but no jumping or eventing is in his future). He is at least 16 3 and is UTD on everything.

He will stand tied but no crossties please!

Maverick requres a very special approved adopter, someone he can trust and who is calm and experienced and dedicated to bonding with this amazing horse. Please PM Pam Brace Merrick for an application. The adopter must be willing to work with his current foster/trainer to make sure his transition is a successful one.

This is a beautiful gray gelding, the color everyone wants! If you are looking for a really really nice horse, don't pass him up!

So today I rescued a scared pit puppy running around loose in the Goodwill parking lot in Canandaigua. Someone from Texas left her in the hot car with a window down far enough so she escaped due to the heat.

Don't leave your pets in a hot car people! It may only be April but the sun is intense in a parked car.

Please be smarter than that. I was seconds away from calling the Humane Society......I did give them quite the lecture :( I hope they listened. Poor puppy.
