I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, I promise. I’ve just been taking less clients for personal reasons. I’m still here though. If I can’t help you I have a few ladies that I highly recommend to take my place.
Tonight is special because I am with our very first client ever. Technically, she was Alyssa’s first client ever and then became mine too. Layla was just a young pup living with her mommy and daddy.
We watched her when Mommy
& Daddy got married and when they were in the hospital having their first baby. Now Layla has a canine sister and three human siblings. She will always have such a special place in our hearts. Say hi to Layla & her sister Lolli 💖💖 (both rescue dogs btw) ❤️🐾

We hate to do this , But we are temporarily closed for intake until further notice. Our Rescue is currently home to 15 adults, 5 teens (5-10 months old), 23 puppies (4-12 weeks old), and a pregnant mother. We urge you to visit our adoptable pups at events and give them a second chance at life by opening your heart and home. We can’t continue to save anymore dogs & puppies until what we have get adopted.

The downside of rescue is having to say goodbye! What a gift we can give them though so that they don’t suffer anymore. Lots of broken hearts tonight….DBU team, her two foster moms, me & Alyssa. Run free over that bridge Princess Piper. I know you’re so happy now chasing tennis balls with an all you can eat treat buffet. We will all see you again someday, somewhere over the rainbow.

Just a heads up to my clients. Last night I came down with something. Uncontrollable shakes, fever, weakness, etc. I had to miss a funeral I wanted to attend today. Not sure if I have Covid or the flu or what. If I have you booked for this weekend either Alyssa or Chris or both will be doing the jobs for me. If I am supposed to meet you for the first time this weekend unfortunately we’ll have to reschedule. I sincerely apologize. Hoping to be better by Monday for my normal weekly clients. I don’t know what this is but it has me down for the count 🥶😷🙏🏻❤️‍🩹

Learning of veterinarians taking their lives absolutely breaks my heart. I cannot imagine what a day in their lives must be like.

“Unless you have a very close relationship with a veterinarian, you probably don’t actually know much about what their day to day life involves. Many career choices have dramatic highs and lows but there is a perfect storm of the personality types that excel in vet med (often type A, self critical, ambitious, yet extremely compassionate with high investment into their work and skill level, unlikely to be great at self preservation) with the nature of the job itself (very long hours of high intensity work, burden of hefty student loans, sleep deprivation, high emotional toll, high self and client expectation, inability to “turn off”, self perpetuating culture of work obsession).

People never cease to be shocked when I correct the idea that the hardest part of this job is having to euthanize old animals. Not even close. They also are almost always surprised to learn that vet medicine incorporates one of the highest su***de rates across all professions. These losses are highly talented and committed individuals who nobody suspected of struggling until it was just too late.

If you are linked to a person on social media who works in veterinary medicine, you may have noticed them changing their profile picture to include "NOMV" with the Rod of Asclepius. Some of you may know, but if you don't, NOMV stands for Not One More Vet because we have one of the highest su***de rates of any profession. A CDC study showed that female veterinarians are 3.5 times more likely to die by su***de than the average person and male veterinarians are 2.1 times more likely. When you see your friend or social media acquaintance change their profile, it's usually because they have learned of another colleague that succumbed to su***de. This crisis is multifactorial. High debt and subsequent financial struggles, poor work life balance, compassion fatigue, threats of lawsuits, board complaints and cyberbullying.

For my non-veterinary friends, understand that vets are under a tremendous amount of stress and pressure. Please be kind to ALL of our staff. They matter too.

Realize none of us are "in it for the money" and are "trying to run a bill up". Both those statements are asinine.

If you see people bullying a vet online, for the love of all things, do not pile on. Veterinarians literally kill themselves over that kind of stuff.

We lost 3 more this week alone and another in the past month. We are literally dying trying to help you and your pets. We are humans, not punching bags. Your words and behavior matter. “ copied from so many others who want to raise more awareness of this issue.

It should go without saying but once again my clients see just how much all your babies mean to me. I pulled up to my Piper girl today. I do her 5 days a week, every week. Well today I rolled up to a fire truck, ambulance, and police officers. Get out of my car and immediately smell natural gas. Being married to and the mother of firefighters I know it isn’t rare for someone to call 911 when they smell gas. It’s usually no big deal…until it is. Today people working on the road hit a gas line. That is an emergency and they were evacuating the area.

Now, I had 20 minutes to pick up my grandson from preschool, more clients to get to, and I have Piper in my car who 1) doesn’t like other dogs and 2) doesn’t like many people. I’m sure as hell not leaving her to potentially get blown up. We’ll figure it out together, and that’s just what we did.

The authorities handled the situation, it was deemed safe, and everyone could return to their homes. Again I say your babies are my babies. I will go to the ends of the earth to keep them all safe and happy ❤️

I got to spend this past week with my best girl Billie 💗 She even got to meet Alyssa this year and of course instantly loved her. I swear Alyssa speaks dog lol. Isn’t Billie beautiful? I just love this girl 🥰

These two sweet babies are looking for a new home immediately. Billy, nine year old black lab female and Molly, six year old hound mix female (both spayed) are a bonded pair that lost their home to a house fire. They are friendly, great with kids and get along with other dogs. They would make a wonderful addition to any family. For more info, call the office and we will connect you with their former owner.

Today I got to meet the newest member of the Stitch of Love family. My cuddle bug Charlie got a brother. Meet Nugget. He’s no bigger than a peanut lol. So cute!!
Just a reminder…Summer 2023 is booking already. Please schedule asap so you can get on our schedule. Lynn and I are looking forward to another awesome year!! 😎💜

Hi everyone, I know, I know I’m awful at updating this page. I always say I’ll do better but then don’t. I never even got on here to wish all of my wonderful clients a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, etc and now January is almost over 🤦🏻‍♀️ I wish time would slow down just a little.

Good news is we’ve been super busy taking care of all your fur babies ❤️

Lynn had major surgery a few weeks back but will be returning to all the babies soon. 🤕

I can’t believe we’re already booking spring and summer dates so if you have any trips planned and need us let us know asap. I would hate to not have anyone to cover your dates and then your babies have to be left with someone they don’t know. We’ll even take Fall 2023 dates if you have them. 😎

Today was a first. Never have I walked into a clients house and been whistled at repeatedly. I was literally LMAO and replied “thanks, you’re pretty good looking yourself” ❤️ It was the cockatiels in the other room 🤣😂 At least the birds think I’m cute 🦜🥰 🤣
