Three cheers for my Dad!

Not sure how to properly thank him for all the time he has spent on this building. He was working hard at the beginning with demolition of the old barn and he has continued right through to the end. Helping plan, build, and now completing the electric.

He has always been amazing, there for us kids in ways that have taught us exactly how to be a parent. Acts of service is definitely his and my moms love language and it is my love language too. ♥️

Thank you Dad. With all our hearts, thank you.

My favorite thing to do at night when I am closing up the chickens is watch all the earthworms slide back into the ground when the light hits them.

Both the west and north walls are nearly done. Love seeing our vision come to life!

One of my only asks for the barn was to have a large window on the second floor looking out at the house. Todd added the window on the west side for symmetry and I think it was the best idea.

First time on the second floor and I’m ecstatic! This space will be my hubbys office and a hangout space for the family/kids.
I love that I can look out the front windows over our garden and the back windows over the chickens!

Todd usually starts our garden by seed in February/March. This year, the barn has taken priority, rightfully so.
While we both love gardening, the veggie garden is his “baby” and I am the one who cooks or preserves all that he grows.
So stepping outside of my comfort zone a bit and getting our garden going…honestly, completely out of love for Todd. He enjoys his time out there too much for us to not have one. ❤️
Just a little reminder to be aware of your partners love language and to fill their cup when the opportunity presents itself. ❤️

This sweetheart is Chicken Little. She is 4 yrs old and was the first chick I ever named. She talks quite a bit, eats more than the others, and loves to have her picture taken.

She is slowing down in her age, not laying anymore, and is needing a little extra care from me. She is thriving right now, but the time will come when she is not; however, until then, she gets the special walks outside the fence and cuddles from me. ❤️
