Great information!

With the temps dropping important information to keep in mind to keep your pups safe.🐾❄️

How cold is too cold for dogs?

As a general rule of thumb:
-at 45°F (7°C) and below, most dogs will start to become uncomfortable and should not be outside for extended periods of time.

-at 32°F (0°C) and below, small, thin-coated, young, old and sick dogs should not be left outside.

-at 20°F (-7°C) and below, dogs become vulnerable to hypothermia and frostbite.

It's a common belief that dogs and cats are more resistant than people to cold weather because of their fur, but that's untrue. Like people, cats and dogs are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia and generally should be kept inside.

You are your dog’s best advocate when it comes to cold weather safety, so if you feel cold and uncomfortable, chances are your dog does, too!

If you find a stray dog please warm gradually and not to fast and call non emergency or even us here at Billys Posse to assist. These temps ahead are dangerous and it is crucial to get these dogs somewhere safe and warm. Stay safe and warm everyone!
