ou are completely satisfied with his final look! Zoom Zoom Groom is a Mobile Pet Salon. I will park my compact trailer right in front of your house, or place of business, pick up your pet, and give him a short health walk before I begin grooming. The minute your pet is groomed, I walk him safely back home and reward him with yummy treats. My grooming unit is extremely quiet and self contained. Little 12 weeks old Fiona had her first Zoom Zoom Groom experience yesterday. This adorable and spunky Shih Tzu isn’t quite 3lbs yet, but already has received great grooming training from her breeder and owners. She flew through her first nail trim, bath/brush/ dry and mini hair cut brilliantly. See you soon again!

Nearly 4000 miles, and 24 days later, I’m back home in Maryland 🥵 there are no words to describe how extraordinary it was to road trip with my dad to far far places in our beautiful province of Quebec. All of my kitties greeted me in their own way: CJ ran up to me as I was backing up the truck in the driveway, Phoenix was quietly waiting for me on the couch, Asher gave me the cold shoulder until 8pm to then spend the night purring on my head. Halvah ( who finally decided to use the cat door two weeks ago) was MIA until 5 am, when she loudly stormed in demanding a fresh tin of pâté to be opened and served. I’ve never been so relieved to hear her unique and piercing meow ❤️🐾❤️ all is well, time to unpack, and give the truck some TLC before grooming can resume.

Shenanigans Day 13, we reached the end of road 138 in Kegaska. Mission accomplished!!! We visited Kegaska and Natashquan, and retired early in our cozy cabin. Tomorrow we start our trek back to Montreal.

Shenanigans day 12 kicked our booties! We did a day long tour of 3 Mingan Islands: Quarry, Niapiskau, and Fantôme. We had 3 hours on each of the first two, and one hour on the last. Quarry was the first island, and we could have walked as little as a mile, but dad decided to do the guided tour, so ended up walking closer to 2+miles, knowing full well that on Niapiskau, there was a required 3.5 miles to accomplish. That “walk” the Samuel Trail was very challenging: forest trails with lots of roots to avoid and manoever around, beach walks with slippery rocks, slick sand, and a salt marsh with very wet terrain. Added challenge, plus size hungry black flies and mosquitoes. Dad is toast, almost fell asleep eating his dinner tonight, but oh so proud of himself, and inspired by what we saw today.

Shenanigans Day 11: there were insane wind, rain and thunderstorms overnight in Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan, and serious wind squalls picked up early this morning. The sea excursion we had planned for today in Havre St-Pierre was cancelled. Luckily, we were able to rebook for tomorrow. So we casually made our way to Natashquan where we will be spending the next 3 nights in a small but super quaint and cozy cabin. I did a random hike to see rock formations and more flora( spotted my first Chicoutai!!), a second hike along the Johan-Beetz- Bay, and shorter walks in Aguanish and near Ile Michon. Dad and I are blown away by the beauty and ruggedness of the sea and its shoreline.

Shenanigans day10: we visited the Mingan lighthouse, and Ile Nue de Mingan. A nearly 4 hour excursion that also took us close to the shore of two other islands to observe birds and seals. It was extremely foggy after all the rain we got yesterday and overnight, but the pristine wilderness is still breathtaking.

Shenanigans day 9: the highlight of the day was spotting 2 young mooses and an adult on the back road shortly after leaving our cabin this morning. Then, a long rainy day on the road. We stopped in Sept-Îles for lunch, checked out the fishing boats and ate the freshest fish and seafood lunch on the pier. We arrived in Longue -Pointe Mingan around 3.30, and checked into our RV parked smack on the beach, less than 100 feet from the sea. Unfortunately, it’s completely foggy. Let’s hope this clears up by morning, so we can go discover the Mingan Islands with our Zodiac captain!

Shenanigans day 8: we visited Rivière Pentecôte, Port-Cartier, and went back to the beautiful beach at Pointe-à-Poulin to cool off. It was a balmy 82F, and I’m extremely grateful for our cabin to be right next to the sea, it’s much cooler and windy.

Shenanigans day 7, I have to apologize for my pictures not showing in chronological order in my posts. Internet access is extremely scarce on Québec’s North Coast, and my cell signal is weak, at best. That said, we had another fun filled day visiting Baie Trinité, the national shipwreck center ( amazing), Pointe- à-Poulin and its somewhat secret white sand beach, and then walked all around Pointe -des-Monts following shore trails and going into the forest to visit an Innu hunting camp site ( no longer in use). Bartender, pass the gin!!

Shenanigans day 6: one heck of a loooooooong day, but incredibly inspiring. We visited the Manic 5 Daniel Johnson hydro electric dam this morning. Then drove back to Baie Comeau ( roughly 200km) grabbed lunch and gathered food and drink supplies. We hit the road again for our next overnight stop: Pointe des Monts ( about 120km) we will be here for 3 nights, much needed respite. We briefly stopped at the scenic overlook in Saint Pancrace. Stunning.

Shenanigans day 5: cratère René-Levasseur, Lac Manicouagan. This day had the potential to be a complete bust, but it all worked out for the better. Both dad and I really wanted to see Lac Manicouagan in the area of the crater, but it was extremely difficult to find info about how to reach the lake, and where without trespassing. We met an outfitter at the gas station, and he gave us the insider info, and since we drive my truck, we pulled right onto the beach. Dad was beaming when we arrived in front of this stunningly massive lake. My original plan was to go hike Mont Harfang in the Uapishka mountain range near by, but when I saw this pristine “playground”, I decided to just hang out with my dad all day.

Shenanigans day 4: Les Islets Jérémie, Ragueneau, and a tour of Manic 2 the Jean Lesage hydro electric dam. For security reasons, no cell phones or picture taking allowed on the premises. It was rainy and foggy this morning, but I whole heartedly fell in love with both small coastal villages and their rugged beaches.
