Harper Hope was having a hard time delivering her first litter of puppies and her mom was getting very concerned. After coming here for a C-Section, we're happy to report that Harper and her four puppies are doing well. She's the proud new mama of 3 boys and 1 girl! Well done Harper!

Meet Connie. 💜 She has been the Business Administrator for CARE for 5 years. She's a lifelong animal lover and grew up around quite the variety, including dogs, rabbits, a pair of peacocks, a horse, a goat, a duck, homing pigeons, turtles, lizards, many fish, and even snakes. In her free time, she likes to garden, watch movies, go shopping, do puzzles, visit local wineries and breweries, play with her dogs, and spend time with family and friends. She keeps this place running like a well oiled machine and we are so incredibly lucky to have her. Thank you, Connie, for all that you do!! 💙

CARE is happy to announce our generator is installed and fully functional. We are always available 24/7,and now we can continue to help even in a power outage. This process has been long and had more setbacks than expected, but we are so happy with the final outcome. Our goal is to always help our community to our fullest potential and this generator is another accomplishment towards that goal. 🩺💙

A day late, but yesterday was Pet Fire Safety Day. Started by the Kennel Club and ADT in 2009, was created to raise awareness around learning how to keep pets safe in the event of a fire.

Our tip: Make a family evacuation plan and practice it with your pets to make sure you keep those you love safe from harm.

Dogs and cats have a much higher sense of hearing than us humans do. While we may hear fireworks as musical pops, our pets experience them with much higher intensity. 💥

As with thunder and lightning, the loud booms and flashes of fireworks are very unpredictable, causing confusion and fear for pets. Cats and dogs cannot understand what is happening when they hear fireworks which instinctually triggers their fight-or-flight response to unknown threats.
