Meet Oreo, the sweetest 5-month-old kitten with a heart full of love and a playful spirit! Despite a neurological defect that gives her a unique walk, Oreo doesn’t let anything slow her down. She runs, jumps, climbs, and keeps up with her furry friends like a champ.
While two vets have been unable to diagnose her condition without an MRI, our rescue doesn’t have the resources to cover this costly procedure. However, both vets have said she’s healthy enough to be adopted. Oreo is looking for a special and experienced adopter who can give her the love and patience she deserves. She’s incredibly affectionate, loves being with people, and would be the purrfect companion for the right family.

**Update: Holly's Progress and Continued Need for Support**
We have some encouraging news to share about Holly! On Friday, Holly was spayed, and she’s recovering well. But even more importantly, we're finally seeing improvement in her neurological FIP symptoms. After over a month of treatment, increasing her dosage has started to make a real difference in her quality of life. This is a huge milestone for Holly, and we’re so relieved to see her doing better.
However, we’re still facing significant financial challenges. We have yet to cover the costs of Holly’s initial vet visit, and there are more expenses ahead as her treatment continues. Any donation, no matter the size, will help us cover these costs and ensure Holly gets the care she needs.

A year ago, this mischievous fospice king joined us, and life hasn’t been the same since! Pepper has a terminal heart condition and was only expected to live 3 more months. His foster mom’s hair may be a little grayer, but Pepper’s antics keep us all entertained. From unsanctioned neighborhood strolls to preferring walls over litterboxes, he’s the ultimate bad influence for all foster kittens.
And in true Pepper style, he “treated” himself to a bag of Science Diet Kitten Food for his big day! Join us in wishing him another year of shenanigans and starry sleepovers. 😸
Holly, one of the sweet cats under FFL’s care, has been battling neurological FIP. Despite a month of treatment, she's still struggling with unsteadiness, incontinence, and difficulty jumping. We're doing everything we can, including increasing her medication and taking her for X-rays, which thankfully came back normal.
The kittens are also improving, with their eye infections clearing up nicely. Thank you to everyone who's supported their care through our GoFundMe! Every bit helps us provide the medical attention these precious fur babies need.

Please consider supporting our spring fundraiser! Details of the fundraiser are included below, but first, we want to share another story about why we need to fundraise. Sometimes the cats in our care need expensive medical treatments. Other times, we rescue cats knowing that costly vet appointments are in their future. This sweet girl is Sophie. She wandered up to one of our volunteers at a barn. As usual, we rescued her without a second thought. Sophie came to us with lice, an upper respiratory infection, and a heart murmur. Some loving care, a handful of vet visits, and a cardiology clearance later and she was ready to be adopted!! Having extra funds on hand allows us to help cats like Sophie. Our fundraisers help to offset these unexpected costs. Please consider purchasing a raffle ticket (or 2!) to help us. You do not need to be local to buy a ticket. We know times are tough. We had an amazing (maybe record-breaking?!?!) day today! All of the cats and kittens that came to the open house were adopted!! That’s 23 adoptions in 5 hours!! To recap our week, last weekend we heard that our good friends at Anson County Animal Shelter needed help getting some cats out of the shelter. We advertised as best we could to get the word out and did as much paperwork as we could in advance. Yesterday, the cats arrived off of transport. We processed them and put most up for adoption today North Frederick Petsmart- AND THEY ALL WENT HOME! We’re all crying happy tears at what we were able to do! ADOPTED Handsome Simba is still looking for his forever home! Simba is about 5 months old. He’s been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and is negative for FIV and FelV. All of his litter mates have been adopted, so he’s looking for his furever home. Simba is the perfect cat! He likes to cuddle, and he purrs up a storm. He likes to be held, too!
