We’re ready to kick off our busy summer!
Patio and water season is here!
We loved having some of our past favorites return for some training fun over the holiday!
Current clients make sure to schedule your vaca weeks ahead for guaranteed availability.
We hope everyone’s been getting out and enjoying the weather! We’ve had some great training days and outings for this crew.
Sunchaser is hiring!
We’re hiring! We are looking for hardworking and passionate team players! Apply today to schedule an interview 🐾
We’ve been seriously slacking with updates on here!
Enjoy some photos of some of our trainees over the last month learning, working, and having fun.
These last couple of weeks have been packed with training and playing hard in all this snow.
We’ve also been loving all of our recent puppy camps! It’s the best jump start for any young puppy and family. We work on building a nice foundation, engagement, routine, basic puppy manners, social skills, confidence building, and more. Most of our pups come back for their advanced skills - it’s a blast watching them grown and being apart of their journey.
Sunday snow trip ❄️
What a year it was for dog training!
We took a nice little slow down for the holiday season - it is just what we needed after a full busy year. Our personal dogs have been soaking in the extra training time, Luna Blue and Blaz have been putting in the work, and my dreams came true when Dottie and Bella Pug got to spend some time together. How cute are they?!
We were able to help so many dogs and families this year and it’s all thanks to the support and trust you give. 2023 was full of change and growth for BRCMD - we’re looking forward to what 2024 has in store. We have a great crew ahead to start the new year off right!
Have a safe & Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas & a happy holiday season to all of our clients, family, & friends!
I’ve had quite a few people react surprised when I say that I still work my personal dogs a couple times a week to keep things fresh and fun for them - why wouldn’t I? They love every second of it and the bond we share. However, every day for my guys is a training day. Not in sessions or daily repetitions but practicing a healthy mindset and adding balance to their day to day with clear boundaries and fair expectations to their routine.
We accomplish so much during your dogs board and train stay however it is just the start of you and your dogs training journey back home together. Dogs are creatures of habit and nine times out of ten your dogs going to walk back into their home, shake it off, and try to settle right back into their old ways. You have to be committed to make consistent changes back into your dogs home environment and routine to see those changes take and last - training is not a quick fix. It takes dedication from all parties involved.
A board and train is a great head start - it sets the foundation, creates new habits, and brings out the best in each individual dog. However, it is up to you to maintain and build that strong relationship back home. Be the leader and the change your dog needs. Be consistent and continue to bring out the best in your dog for years to come.
⚠️ Avoid these dangerous rawhides that can cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue, and choking. Especailly the festive ones with brightly colored paper glued to them. ✨Instead, opt for such as:
🐶 Marrow Bones: bones that contain soft and nutrient-rich marrow in the center
🐶 Bully Sticks: single-ingredient chew, softer than most bones
🐶 No-Hides: like a rawhide, but without the toxic ingredients
🐶 Himalayan Cheese Chews: long-lasting, limited ingredient chew
🐶 Sweet Potato Chews: plant-based, medium-lasting chew

Winter is on the way and it’s about to be extra chilly over the next two days with the wind chills bringing it down into the teens.
❄️ Keep walks short and bring out the coats for your seniors, littles, and short haired dogs.
❄️ Don’t leave your dogs outside for too long unless acclimated. Know your breeds.
❄️ Protect your dogs paws. Salt to melt ice and snow can burn your dogs pads. Keep a look out and make sure to clean off your dogs paws after your walk.
❄️ Beware of antifreeze. It is extremely toxic and deadly.
❄️ Stay hydrated.
❄️ Know your dogs limits. Every dogs tolerance to the cold is a bit different. Take into consideration of your dogs breed but also conditions that may cause your dog to not be able to regulate their body temperature.
Frostbite and hypothermia can set in fast.
Stay warm!
Good morning Facebook friends and fam!
Today is small business Saturday and without our awesome clients we wouldn’t be here. Every referral and your continued support means the world to us. Word of mouth is so powerful and each year we continue to grow; we are so grateful. To our current / past clients who have completed a program; we now offer a day train add on for those short boarding visits at Sunchaser Kennels. We’re still offering our refresh weeks of course but I’ve had a couple requests from our regulars that visit often. Our favorite part of the training process…There is nothing quite like seeing a dog just being a dog embracing off leash freedom with the pack in the woods for the first time. We always see a huge positive shift in the training process especially for dogs like Aspen - it’s a beautiful and very fulfilling moment.
Spotlight on Nyla! It’s hard to believe this was the same pup who came in lunging, barking, growling, cowering, and frantically pulling us around all over. Nyla was insecure and fearful of the world around her and has recently found a new kind of confidence that’s going to take her and her family far as she continues to grow. This pup has made a huge turn around during her B&T program and we can’t wait to see how she does returning home to her big city life.
Morning hike with Ruger and Boomer! Having some offleash fun and practicing our general car manners.
Girls day out! Suki and Phoebe became the best of friends during their board and train stay with us. It made for a great distraction when we were out practicing, proofing, and building on their new skills. Working was not on their brain when we got out into the field. These two just wanted to run and around and play! Training is a process and mistakes have to be made for them to grown and learn. Without a challenge there is no growth!
First day of the new year hiking Gambrill Mountain + making a stop at Prospect Point! Cooper, Boomer, and Baron thoroughly enjoyed their start to 2023!
King Leo was a joy and and a great example that older dogs can learn new tricks too. Prior to training Leo pulled hard and took you where Leo wanted to go. He’s used to romping around loving life on his property and will soon be retiring with his family to Florida in a neighborhood where leash manners are needed. We will miss his sweet face and great personality to match!
Morning hikes are our favorite! Maze and Yeti go home today and I can not wait to hear all about their Colorado adventures with all their new skills they’ve learned.
90 + degree days calls for afternoons at the river! Great for confidence building, retrieves, outs/drop it, leave it, recall, down stays, impulse control, daily exercise, and swimming lessons! It was Maze’s first swimming experience. She was swimming all around in no time. Most of all it’s just a really fun time for all the dogs.
It may look like a normal walk around Lowes but for this guy it’s a big deal. Thunder came to us expecting to say hi to everyone and when he had the opportunity it was a very unpleasant greeting. He is one social boy with a great personality both with dogs and people but my goodness was he out of control prior to his stay. So proud of this one; he’s still a young 8 month old pup with still so much growing to do. Can’t wait to see how he matures and the work his family puts back in returning home.
My kind of training weather! We hope everyone got to enjoy this beautiful evening. Toots and Beep loved their evening stroll at Baker. Bring on spring!
I love when I get my dogs back for weekly refreshers! Mack and Tucker are already back working on their advanced skills and offleash fun. Make sure to get your reservations in after you plan your vaca this year! It’s a great time for your dog to tune things up and have a blast while you’re away!
Happy New Year! 🥂 Hoping that all of our clients, family, and friends had a great holiday season! Our December was filled with some great training moments!
