Sit Means Sit Frederick offers private lessons, group classes, day train programs and board and train programs for ANY dog, ANY age, ANY problem. The first step is scheduling an evaluation so that we can professionally determine your dog's needs. We specialize in formal obedience training and off-leash training. Kari and Gary Pigott own SMS Frederick and SMS Rockville-Potomac. Kari has a backgroun

d in training and helping find homes for shelter dogs. Kari is certified through the Sit Means Sit school's three week course. Gary's background is in showing and competing with dogs and he is the vice president of the Working American Pit Bull Terrier Club and the President of Alexandria Schutzhund Group. Together they have experience in trick training, dock diving, Schutzhund/IPO, basic agility, behavioral modification. This combined knowledge gives them the skills to work with any type of behavioral issue from puppy basics, to anxiety, to aggression.

Onyx came to us as a very energetic young puppy with a very motivated owner ready to train him. They attended puppy classes every week, learning markers, food motivation and basic foundational life skills! Once he was old enough to start our advanced training program we added official commands such as place, sit, come (recall and loose leash walking), out and off. Onyx has a very energetic, balanced and motivated temperament which made him a joy to train. He left with a solid obedience foundation and life skills that will allow him and his owner to continue to proof during our unlimited group classes.
