November is Senior Pet Health Awareness Month! This event is to help bring awareness about your senior pet’s health! Sometimes seniors need a little extra care and attention. 🩶

🐾 If your pet is older than 7 years old (depending on breed and size) they are typically considered a senior.
🐾 Just like humans, as pets get older they may experience certain ailments that younger pets don’t, such as arthritis, heart disease, dental issues, cancers, and kidney or liver disease.
🐾 If you have any concerns about your senior furry friend, call and ask to schedule a senior exam!
🐾 Also, consider adopting a senior pet from your local shelter! Senior pets are great companions, they are typically more docile compared to energetic puppies.

As we wrap up our Halloween spirit week shenanigans, we decided to prank one of our vet assistants, Evan. We told him we needed help moving a large dog while another assistant, Sydney, hid in the bag. The look on his face was priceless! Perhaps he’ll forgive us one day, it was done all in good fun after all 😂

This week is to recognize and show appreciation to our vet techs! They do anything and everything behind the scenes - from nail trims, bloodwork, x-rays, a**lyzing microscopic samples, to setting up and assisting with surgery. 🧫💊🧬🔬

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! 🧡🐶

ASPCA sponsors this event every year to help promote the adoption of dogs from shelters! Nationwide, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter the shelter system every year. We’ve recently seen multiple local shelters posting on social media about being at maximum capacity; shelter dogs vary in breeds, size, and demeanor with each dog having a different history. No matter if you’re looking for a young active dog or an old cuddly dog, what you’re looking for may be at your local shelter. There’s a loving dog for everyone 🤎🐩🐕

If you are currently unable to adopt a dog, but would still like to help raise awareness, feel free to share this post and visit your local animal shelter to ask how how you can help support them! 🧡

With September coming quickly to an end and before the rush of the upcoming holiday months, we’d like to show some appreciation to our veterinarians - Dr. Horricks and Dr. Foster.

For those who don’t know, September is Su***de Prevention Month and veterinary professionals are among the enhanced risk for su***de. Being a vet is not the fun times that many people think; it involves difficult situations such as delivering unfortunate news to a family, having to help make the right treatment decisions in the best interest of the pet, or not catching an illness in time. When you lose your beloved pet, our vets also lose a furry one that they care about too. Our staff have seen Dr. Horricks and Dr. Foster both overloaded with work to where they rarely get a chance to eat, use the restroom, or just have a second to breathe - there are occasions where they even stay late after hours or come in early the next day to help emergencies.

There is an organization called “Not One More Vet” who address mental wellness within the profession. Please consider visiting nomv.org to learn more about their mission. 🩵

Speaking for our staff - we greatly appreciate everything Dr. Horricks and Dr. Foster do. We see how hard they work everyday and the sacrifices they make from day to day to help their patients 🫶🏻🩺🐾
