Fiona would like to say thank you for the new bell boots and No Thrush powder from Wishlist Wednesday. She is wearing her new bell boots now and we are prepared for thrush with the up coming muddy season.

We appreciate each and every supporter. The horses are so loved 😍

The young and the young at heart. Levi (blanketed) and Sonny are best buds and herd mates. Levi is 24 years young and Sonny is coming 2 years old. Their age gap doesn’t get in the way of their strong friendship. They can often be seen playing together, sunbathing, or sharing from their hay hut. They are the sweetest boys!

Sonny found a nice patch of grass to snooze on. We can’t believe he turns 2 this year!

Today is ! Mireya knows a lot of care goes into keeping the horses healthy and happy. One of our greatest needs is bell boots. Our shod horses keep them on to prevent pulling a shoe and to protect from overreaching.

The horses also still have a wish list on Amazon of our most needed items. If you’d like to provide a gift to the horses, please visit our link:

We are thrilled to announce that Cairo and Prince were adopted together today! 🎉

Both boys are headed to a farm with other adopted horses and will enjoy their lives in the countryside. We know that they will have their new owners laughing with all their shenanigans! Happy gotcha-day to the “twins.”

A couple of our golden girls pictured here got their pedicures today.

We had a total of 7 horses who got trims or shoes today. I’m sure they appreciate it with all the snow we still have on the ground!

Before and After!

We love filling our hay barn with some of the best hay available for our equines! It took a tractor and several helping hands to unload and stack hay bales.

Our horses blow through it so quickly especially as the temperatures drop. We want to make sure they have warm, full bellies on those frigid nights.

Happy New Year from the CVHR herd!

The horses have been enjoying their blanket-free time during this warmer weather. We catch them sunbathing or rolling in the mud. They’re always curious and watching us work around the farm.

We would like to thank you for your support in 2024. Whether you liked or shared a post, sent a product or monetary gift, or adopted, we appreciate you! We look forward to continuing to care for these precious equines in 2025!

Next up on our list to find a Home for the Holiday! 🎅

Featuring Joy, a gentle companion for life.

Name: Lady Bidmore (Joy)
Breed: standardbred
Age: 24
Height: approx. 15.2 hh
Color: bay

Joy is a docile mare and gentle in her senior years. She knows what she likes and that is to eat!

Temperament and Handling:
Joy is great for catching, leading, feeding, and grooming. She has only one eye but that doesn’t slow her down! She’s still got s***k and loves to watch you make breakfast.

Ideal Home:
We are looking for a loving forever home for Joy where she can be turned out with friends. Joy does not do well being kept in a barn due to her having vision in only one eye. She loves being outside 24/7 with friends and is a gentle leader.

Health and Care:
Joy doesn’t require any medications or supplements. She eats hay and gets fed twice a day. She’s got solid feet and is barefoot. She has the most gorgeous coat and actually gets spotted in the winter!

To learn more about Joy, please send a message to the page. She has been waiting a long time for her match; help us get her a home for the Holidays!

Before and After!

Our big barn needed new doors so what better way to replace them than to repurpose doors. With some new hardware and track, we have two beautiful “new” doors!

We also added some extra wood pieces to keep drafts out of the barn and our ponies warm. A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who make this happen!
